Does "It's retarded" count? The organic-synthetic conflict is a straw man (hint: the geth war got started because the quarians were afraid of the potential the geth were showing - them being synthetics was completely incidental); there's no reason to think that synthesis will actually fix the problem of Reapers killing everyone (Control/Destroy will fix it whilst you have to hope that the Reapers kindly decide to stop killing in Synthesis), etcAlso if synthesis being canon doesn't interest you, what is it you don't like about that being the backdrop for ME4?
But that's merely bad writing. The real problem is that ME is, or was supposed to be, about player choice. That's part of why I didn't like ME3, and I doubt that I will like it better in ME4.

They're figuring on drawing a Deus Ex: Invisible War? I could live with it, but since synthesis practicly is the "no **** is ever going to happen" ending, with everyone being able to understand each other and live in harmony, I get the feeling that it is a dead end.
I would rather take a look at the Metacon Wars, which Javik mentions. You get to play as a Prothean. A good idea to explore the history and lore of Mass Effect.
However the DEIW(yes I am calling it that now) could also be interesting, if there is anything interesting to do. Hard to get into conflicts when you are all connected! *my spidersenses are tingling*
I found Javik to be very boring, I hope to god this never happens
