They're figuring on drawing a Deus Ex: Invisible War? I could live with it, but since synthesis practicly is the "no **** is ever going to happen" ending, with everyone being able to understand each other and live in harmony, I get the feeling that it is a dead end.
I would rather take a look at the Metacon Wars, which Javik mentions. You get to play as a Prothean. A good idea to explore the history and lore of Mass Effect.
However the DEIW(yes I am calling it that now) could also be interesting, if there is anything interesting to do. Hard to get into conflicts when you are all connected! *my spidersenses are tingling*

Nope. Synthesis was a terrible option. Synthesis (at least how they go about it in the ME3 ending) is basically rape on a galactic scale.

I don't really think you should talk this way about a person who you don't know. It is also forbidden by forum rules.

...and it's the truth. Deal with it.

If we were to post everything which is truth, but rude and against the rules, those forums would be unsufferable.

Going to have to agree, after all Community Manager does entail certain things, like testing the grounds.

Synthesis-no fracking way.

Let me see.  She was the one that went on twitter and told people there would be a reunion between Shepard and teammates in the EC.  When people busted their butts to try and find it-thinking they needed more EMS or to play some other way-and they could not find it, they asked her where it was.  People even said to her pointedly there was no reunion and she said there was because it was implied and it was clear that there would be one.  Then, Chris Hepler said the torso scene meant Shepard died.  And JM was asked if some BW people were saying Shepard died, why did she say Shepard lived and it was implied there would be a reunion.  She said she never said that and that she had said the ending was ambiguous.

So, she isn't very reliable at all.  However, if she is right this time, then BW will have totally confirmed they've gone off the rails.  Synthesis as the end to evolution is irrational.  And synthesis is still the most magic-like of all choices.  I'm not trying to insult people here that like it, but even the basis for why the kid likes it is irrational.  And no one sane in the game liked it as an idea.  Mordin was one of the most rational of all-he even could rationalize the genophage, but he saw no value in synthesis.  And I value his opinion far more than the kid's.

No, if you want transhumanism then do it properly and deal with its issues properly. you cannot just handwave it all away with a frikin green beam/pulse. Besides if i want that topic i will go to cyberpunk which does it better. Mass effect is not cyberpunk. So please do not try to be something which it is not.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Btw Bioware; there is a HUGE difference between synthesis occurring naturally and it being forced on everyone. Think it through.

How could Synthesis be canon for ME4, anyway? Doesn't Synthesis mean that we've reached a state of utopia where war can't be a possibility?

Why would there be a war anyway, when everyone's the same and there are no opinions or disagreements of any kind because there's no diversity at all.

Besides whatever they do in future, let the aliens you know be aliens. Geth were interesting in 2 as was EDI. Now both the groups want to be like organics. WTH was with that. The only proper alien left is Javik, rest are nothing but humans wearing masks.

Making the decision canon would have zero influence on my decision to get the game or not.

Since it would be a new story with a new protaganist, other factors would be much more important to me.

There are other galaxies that would happily come and harvest both the reapers and all life in our galaxy while we have our lively green smile.

Synthesis just looks flat out cheesy. It also doesn't mean outright peace and can still by it's own very nature spur on future wars, just like the Catalyst warned Shep of when discussing Destroy. So please listen to us, Bioware. Shep fought three games trying to stop the Reapers, making him buddy buddy with them in the last ten minutes seems like a huge cop-out.

Well to be fair, the former is what she was suggesting.

That if Shepard chooses Control or Destroy at some point the galaxy decides they all want to become cyborgs anyway. She was saying that if there is a Mass Effect 4 synthesis will have occured whether or not Shepard was the agent that instigated it.

No ending is acceptable. Well maybe refuse, but there's no way for ME4 after that. So anyway Electronic Arts burned all the bridges, by constant offending fans with their bs.

well the way I saw it, Synthesis was going to happen eventually anyway and really it had been foreshadowed since ME1.

I chose destroy myself for my canon Shep, but that dosent mean 1000 years later Synth wont happen. In fact, I expect it to. It can happen with Bioware still giving strong nods to the ending choice you made in ME4.
