Like the title says will it have a import option like DA2 did. Only it would work.

It should be.

I'd rather have an advanced tab that lets me edit my decisions after an import has been done. Maybe it even prompts you for things they know are wrong in the save file. That way if there are bugs or issues that are too late to be fixed, it's in the player's hands, and they're not waiting on a patch.

If they want an incentive to play the previous game, yes. (I wish they wouldn't.)

They might have a feature to fix import bugs if the bugs exist in the previous game. They most likely won't allow players to change anything else from imported games and give players a limited set of pre-made options -- just to entice players to make their own saved games with the previous games (which only ends up with player downloading save-editors and saved games from others instead of playing the previous games themselves).

I'd rather they just give you a checklist.

What Giltspur and Atakuma said. An extended checklist it's better than a (bugged) import function.

They already confirm that DA3 will have import from Dragon Age 2. And despite what people complain about, the game had some important choices (Chantry/Qunari, and Templar/Mages at least)

I thought DA2 was okay I think DAO was better but unlike a lot of people I liked it. But was it really announced that they would

It wouldn't make sense if it doesn't have it.

Mages vs. Templars mean nothing, it ends the same either way (Mages everywhere inspired by Hawke, Rise up) (Mages everywhere inspired by what almost was, hate hawke, rise up)

Not exactly true.  It isn't meaningless.  The end of DA2 is functionally the same, but whether Hawke sided with the templars and the mages rebelled out of righteous fury, or whether Hawke sided with the mages and they rose up in self-defense, there is potential for some significant difference in the upcoming storyline.  Of course, it remains to be seen how and whether Bioware will address that potential.

Agreed!

The off chance they were willing to do this they'de probably make it pc only.  As incredible as the idea may be.

It won't matter as much as with ME3, but I was extremely disappointed when it wouldn't import my save correctly and I had to look for one that was close online.
