The elves don't need to look human, but they don't need to look like halla either. :-/ The DA elves are supposed to be exotically beautiful. They're supposed to be highly agile, highly survivable in the wild, highly tribal. They're predators, not prey. That's what they should look like. They shouldn't look like frightened deer.

I thought Athenril and Fenris looked fine and Merril looks way better in DA2 compared to Origins:

I'd like to see DA3 explore Arcane Warriors more. Both DA0 and DA2 touched on the subject but there wasn't any real choices involved in playing one.

If there's two things I would really love to see in DA3's character creation, is better hairstyles. In DA2 they gave us new ones on top of the original hairstyles in DA:O, but there were a couple in there that were disgusting or just very disturbing to look at. The monk hairstyle, the stubble monk hairstyle (the worst of the lot), the low/straight cut fringe, and the hairstyle that Solivitus (the herbalist in the gallows) had, which were a little disturbing.

Get rid of these atroscious hairstyles, and add some hairstyles you may find on a modded (almost always, Fem) Hawke which look stunning, though a bit extravagant, plus some better male hairstyles. Also, allow for elves to have Morrigan and Velanna's hairstyle, because as we've seen, various female elves wear their hair that way in DA2.

And another thing: allow us to choose our protagonist's age, but limit us to certain believable ages, because there maybe instances where the PC has a father or a mother. I look towards Fallout and Fallout 2, where the Vault Dweller and the Chosen One can be anywhere from 19 to 35 years old.

ability to change jaw sliders with beard on.

...also more beards, and no restrictions to default special hair and beard (i'm looking at you Garrett Hawke!)

I can't agree with you there. I think they have a unic look, period.

My one big wish - Facial Structure.

Don't get me wrong, Dragon Age 2 creator was pretty bad in a lot of respects. There were no scars available, the complections remained stuck on "Baby Face" and "Old Crone" and the hair styles were wooden, tattoo designs were limited, mouth shape was identical regardless of your input and the colour palettes were as limited as they were in Origins, offering barely any input on skin tone or hair colour.

But I honestly cannot get past the complete lack of facial structure that Dragon Age 2 had.

I played a lot of FemHawkes before I finally made a few Mr.Hawkes, and honestly, the sheer number of structural limitations alone that FemHawke has to endure is utterly unbelievably.

Play-Dough cheeks and rounded jawline was the only choice you were given in terms of facial structure and as a result the majority of my character remained either identical or in-human in their characteristics.

Just please, for the sake of all the Gods, just fix the sodding facial structures.

I agree with this so much.  The elves look like timid herd animals and yet we're supposed to believe the Dalish can be skilled archers, hunters and trackers? That's predator behaviour, not prey animal. Unless they become grazing vegans, I don't think this halla look fits Thedas elves. (Not to mention the highly unfortunate implications of an entire race of people being treated like herd animals being made to look like herd animals as well.)

Furthermore, why does it have to be DA:O or DA2 design? Most DA2 advocates don't seem to care how bad the elves look as long as they don't look like "thin, pointy-eared humans" (and dwarves look like short, stout, hairy humans, yet no one complains. Okay, yeah, sure, whatever) while most DA2 design dislikers want elves to look as cool and attractive as characters imply in dialogue. Why not split the difference and find something that pleases both parties?

Ugh. How about no character customization. I want to just play a game. Character customization is the video game equivalent of figuring out how to pay taxes. especially the eye height and lip shape and eyebrow nonsense.
