I just bought the expansion, but I fear too late in the game. I was coming up to the Landsmeet and I thought I would try it in case I wasn't given the option later. But it seems much too soft for an advanced party.

BUT! Perhaps I missed something?  I mopped up the goons outside and on the first floor and had a bit more trouble with the demons and the possessed granny on the second floor. Is that all there is? A couple of decent armour suits but not Wade's Dragonbone good, and the Staff of Winter. Should I have killed the Wizard?

Definitely much quicker and easier than the principle game quests and no real boss. Did I miss something? I kind of think the difficulty is scaled for average skill and parties below level 15.

It scales with level. It is no more difficult at level 9 then it is at 15. Killing Avernus does get you different items then killing Sophia. You can also kill both of them.

Is the Sulchers Pass a bit more substantial? I assume with Shale to add as a party member it is also going to be more of a challenge early in the game, but I am thinking from a time and complexity level is it closer to the main game quests or Soldiers Peak?

I usually do Sulcher's Pass/Honnleath immediately after leaving Lothering and before doing any of the other storyline quests. This puts me at around level 7-8, and I've never had any particular problems.

I noticed that soldiers keep isn't all that difficult regardless of when you do it.  But I like to do it later in the game because  like the enemies,   the warden armor scales too.  If you do the keep early,  the warden plate will be tier 6 (I believe),  with an armor rating of 18.38 or some such.  If you do it later, it will be tier 7, with an armor rating of 21+

Yes, I know, you can sell it then buy it back later as the upgraded version, but that's silly.

I just finished soldiers keep around level 7ish to 8 as a human mage (didn't get it for my first character) and honestly felt it was rather straight forward and a lot easier than I'd expected, regardless whether I ended killing the old mage. Actually expected the final showdown with the "expect hordes of demons" warning to be some massive onslaught and actually od'ed on stocking up potions. Was expecting more powerful items too, honestly. The Honnleath quest somehow felt more challenging and satisfying, if you asked me. Oh well....

Wow, I never realized you could do this! Thanks for the tip!
