If you want overpowered items just download the Winter Forge mod and save your cash.

It's a pretty decent download to be honest. If you have a problem with it that doesn't mean everyone will. I've had no issues with any of the DL content.

i think bioware needs to take a lesson from borderlands and gearbox personally.

the island of dr ned DLC for borderlands is 10$ cash, no stupid points.

it takes around 3-4 hours to complete the entire thing the first time through.

its pretty huge for a DLC addition, several zones including a new small town.

thats how DLC should be handled.

bioware is shooting themself in the foot with this overpriced nickel and dime crap that lasts for 30 minutes to maybe an hour. sooner or later people are going to wise up and be like this company is giving us the shaft.

But with borderlands they dont need to worry about having a story as there isnt one. Also their are different choices you can pick which dont happen in borderlands. I bet it was alot easier to make the borderlands dlc than the dragon age one.

while I think it was worth the cost..honestly it WAS shady marketing....kinda like the CG trailers (there's NOTHING like them in the game at ALL)...Soldiers Peak is NOT a new base of ops like advertised.

Again I think it was worth it and I enjoyed it..but c'mon..the guy isn't exactly nit-picking..he shouldn't have had to do "research" on it other then what was advertised.

Actually, it is a new base of operations, for a smith and a merchant, and a storage chest. However, it's amazing to me that people don't read up before they buy something, and then want to blame everybody else but themselves for their lack of responsibility. It is your responsibility to determine if something is worth the money, and since there are probably 20 topics about this very thing floating around, it shouldn't have been hard to make a decision. Personally, it was worth my 7 dollars.

It was much shorter than I expected, but I still liked it

Is it worth $7? Debatable, considering how much money is spent on other needless things in life, like cigarettes, alcohol, night clubbing, indulgent snacks.

You sir, just mentioned the four most important things for teenagers and young adults as needless..

While I enjoyed Soldier's Peak and understand that its only worth about a lunch at some fast food restaurant, there are other DLCs out there that have much more content at a similar price. The story, while well told, was way too short.  Seemed hardly a one-page short story...

Thread necromancy ! Oh wait, it's a new "this is an outrage" thread :P

I would have happily paid $4 - I agree that $7 was overpriced.

You know what's really a bummer with that storage chest? IT BACKFIRES LIKE A MO****A.

First of all, we know the dreaded corrupt saves.

Second it's known overloading merchants or even the chest will result into that corrupt saves.

Third the chest happens to switch your item levels, lets say your Dragonbone weapon became Red steel..Pwned.

Seems worth it to me, just bought it and was quite pleased with it.  Guess it's all just preference.

i also enjoyed it, and to me, starfang is the best wep in the game and theres no way to get it w/o the dlc. while the story was short, it added to the story, and now that im on my 5th playthrough, its a little more then a buck per playthrough.

and i agree w/ another poster, ill gladly buy the dlc, if only to help fund the next dragonage.

I guess my question would be - on subsequent playthroughs will you go back to Soldier's Peak? Or are you so angry that you'll disable the content and never play through it again?

Woah there!!!Am i missing something here guyz?Whats this about not being able to get back in to this Wardens Keep after you've finished it?I've only just started playing the main game (still at Lothering!)."Stone Prisoner" was free DLC with my purchase and as soon as i read about this "Party Storage Chest" in "Wardens Keep" i bought that,as lets face it,DAO hasn't exactly the best inventory system in RPG's to date! Now,wtf is this about not being able to "Get back in to it" as the OP complains about?Screw all the extra loot, talents or whatever!! I only bought it for the storage chest.Surely summats wrong here?In fact, that was gonna be my 1st stop AFTER Lothering just to get access to this storage chest ASAP in the game(I'm one of those compulsive,1 of every item type players, although even that sounds dodgy in DAO!).Man,i know DAO's been plagued with more bugs than you're average ******* but c'mon, surely this CANNOT be correct!?!?!

Ps.I forgot to mention im on the XBOX.For the 1st time ever i chose console version over PC,get this...to AVOID BUGS !!!! DAO on the freakin consoles is spannered & the PC version is more Bug-Free!!!  Posted ImageMENTAL

IMO, the DLC is OK. Pretty good, not great. First playthrough it was handy to store stuff, not knowing what was in front of you. Second playthrough? I doubt I'll ever even use the storage.

Decent dungeon crawl. If you're so broke you can't afford it, then don't buy it.

I'm on the PS3 version, and it's been good to me so far. No bugs I encountered. Regarding the Keep, you get a party storage after you finish the quest involving the Keep. You can't get back into the Keep, but the party storage is not inside the keep though.

Overall, I think the sidestory was nice tho I found the quest a bit too easy after all the prepping of other quests.

the op means, that once u complete the keep, and exit, u can no longer ener the warderns keep. you can still access the peak, where your storage chest is, and access levi and his brothers shop. Levis brother is also the one that makes starfang out of the meteor rock u find from the random superman cookie.

I didn't have any problem paying the money for this. I enjoyed it, enjoyed the lil extra's you get with it. Too me it was worth the $7. Thats a pack of cigs n a starbucks coffee for me, something I need to go without anyways lol. The only problem I had was not being able to make this my new camp espcially after a certain attack. When I first played it I thought thats why I was reclaiming it was to make it my Grey Warden headqaurters but it isn't n I don't mind. I'd buy anyting that adds to DAO only because it adds more to the game n I enjoy the playin heck out of it. I'm actually playing my 5th time n waiting patiently for RTO which I will def be getting lol.

*facepalm* Yeah, your base of operations is outside the keep where the Drydens move in. If you can't deal with that, umm, sorry? I like my Warden Commander armor, I like my Starfang, I like my storage chest &  I don't have a problem with not being allowed to go back in afterwards. The vendors can stay outside & stand in the snow if they want. *shrug* With Avernus still experimenting in the keep, I wouldn't want to hang out there either - hah. Now then: lame threads FTL.

Absolutely worth it. I don't use the storage 'cause I got a mod that gives me that in Camp (more convenient). But Starfang, the other items, a great smith - all good. And the extra story too. The abilities I haven't tried yet, but will maybe. I have 10 characters (so far). Divide the money between them and any new ones - chicken feed!

Well I'd rather base my operations inside where it's warm instead of freezing my nipples off.

I'm sure Levi Dryden doesn't have a problem with it, however beings born without a functioning brain rarely do.

Man, I love DLC topics. This one's not even 3 pages long and already you've got every single fallacy in it:

"It's worth $7 because I felt it was worth it!"
"$7 isn't a lot of money, so therefore it's not overpriced!"
"If you're not willing to spend $7, you must be poor!"

I look forward to the day when games are 2 hours long and come with 70 packs of DLC already installed on the disk but all cost $5 to unlock, and people are still thinking it's somehow "worth it" and asking for more.
