Damn. I guess having Leviathan as my LI did funny things to my mind...

It happens to the best of us.

Didn't happen to me and I'm the best there is!

No, I think you're just indoctrinated.

I like the idea, but I'd rather Bioware had stuck with the ME2 model and left out the creeeeeeeepy Joker romance.

[Yes, human/AI relationships are an interesting idea to explore - but you need to explore it, and not just have everyone accept it and skip right to the steamy bits]

I must have blinked and missed the steamy bits. Probably for the best, based on the Mordin conversation on the topic.

Neutral. ME3 seemed to just be retreading old ground, but I didn't have any real issue with her.

I like EDI and I like James.

The hate for James Vega and EDI is no different than any initial resentment towards the new squaddies from Mass Effect 2. They only hate them because they think having him came at the cost of not having any of your former squadmates.

Which is complete crap. If the devs wanted Wrex or Thane, or Miranda to be squadmates, they'd have made room and still had James and EDI. So get the heck over it; you certainly did once before.

I liked her in ME2.

I would actually play through the end of ME3 if I could see the sexbot destroyed in a cutscene.

I really enjoyed EDI both as a character and squadmember. I tend to feel those who didn't like her body can't really give me a good reason why. At least a reason that seems logical and well thought out anyways. All I get is:

"Hurr durr teh seXXXXXbawt suks!"

Neutral.
I felt that the whole "EDI gets a body" plotline was unneccecary. I liked her better when she was just in the Normandy.

It feels like BioWare only put her in a body so that Joker could get a LI.
There is no reason why she couldn't have explored her "humanity" while in her previous form and little is gained by her "body".

I like James, he's a nice character even if he's a cliché.

I don't have to explain why, as a woman, I am offended by the sexbot body.  Just like I wouldn't have to explain why I would be offended by a guy putting up a Sorayama pinup poster in the cubicle next to mine at work.

However, I would hope that my co-worker would respect me enough to not subject me to that.  So I chose not to play ME3 anymore, because I do not want to be subjected to EDI, and Bioware isn't going to take her out of my copy of the game.

You know, if EDI's body wasn't sexualized, 99.9% of her dialogue would be the same. For being such a sexbot, she sure doesn't talk much about sex.

I love EDI, her VA, her dialogs, her general character. Her sexualized looks didn't overtly bother me. Though given a choice I'd sure like a nonsexualized EDI.

James was annoyingly expositional, clearly a character created to give somethign for new players to relate to which resulted in a (most likely unintentional) slap in the face to returning players. If you played ME2, he was unnecessary. If you played ME1, you realized the crew is missing a Krogan, and Freddie Prinze Jr does not have the intimidation factor that Steve Blum and Steven Barr did.

EDI, however, was great. Watching the character evolve from essential an information resource like Avina to a fully sapient, sentient being was captivating. The choice of sex-bot for her character model was in poor taste, but the character herself was great. witnessing her and Joker fall for each other made the Catalyst all the more unacceptable. EDI was awesome. Too bad she has to die to make sure the Reapers don't reap anyone again.

I like EDI alot. I just played through the part where she took control of Dr. Eva's body. The conversations with her are fantastic, imho. And I always keep in mind, from a role-playing perspective, that it wasn't EDI's choice to have that body. I blame the Illusive Man, except maybe 'blame' isn't the right word. She IS nice to look at, and that voice...

EDI is one of my favorite characters. Vega is also great, I really like him.

It's nice to see that two or three people posting over and over again how much they hate EDI and James have suddenly become the majority.

EDI is a great character, and her maturation and slowly growing self awareness and realisation across both games is one of the best character arcs in the series.

It also pisses all over the Catalysts blatantly wrong belief in peace between synthetics and organics being, which is a plus.

I don't even mind the robosexual plot, aside from the fact it makes Joker unromanceable, which is particularly poor considering the lack of straight LI's for Femshep.

Honestly I think EDI should have been a LI herself. It'd provide an interesting viewpoint for Shepard in light of the ending and it's sudden focus on an already solved plot point that was never a real theme of the game. And if you find banging a sapient AI wrong, it's not like it'd be mandatory.

And for those complaining about her taking a spot a ME2 sauaddie could have; you clearly don't realise that was never an option. There simply wasn't enough time or manpower to include another squaddie, we got EDI as a compromise simply because they were already going to need to record a massive amount of lines for her, so giving her a body was the easiest and most efficient way of boosting the numbers.

Hell, we only got Tali because of the 6 month delay, and the fact she's only there for the last 3rd of the game.

EDI was not a case of her or someone else, it was a case of her or one fewer squadmates.

Disliked the path they took her character in ME3 (this is ignoring the whole fembot thing), and after EC I can safely say I abseloutely hate the character.

Why is EDI female? She's an AI. Why is she female? Because her voice sounds female? Because she's using Dr. Eva's body?

Why is Joker so disrespectful to her?
Why does Kaidan of all people comment on her looks? The body almost killed him.

Sorry, EDI is alright ... but that aspect of her character just ruins everything.
