Destroy is sacrificng one life to stop the reapers.

Geth and EDI. Also according to my headcanon Control stops the reapers for about a thousand years, at which time Shepalyst goes off the deep end, and EDI, in who put herself in sleep mode a while after Joker dies due to world weariness, is woken up, and convinces Shepalyst he needs to stop that s***, and upon hearing reason, decomissions the reapers and deletes himself /fanfic

With those destroy lines, they are just a figure of speech, if Shepard really wanted to avoid the death of friends, he should not have brought the whole galaxy with him at all

In my canon playthrough the geth lost te quarian/geth war. So just 1 life to save everyone.

Lucky, I would've chosen destroy has it not been for that caveat, but it was what it was, so I had to choose Control for my canon ending.
