Basically respeccing characters using kits and BGT as to just add a little twist to each companion and need to ask if everyone, in their opinion, thinks they follow the lore of the character closely enough.

Nalia: Swashbucker(4)/Mage
Korgan: Beserker
Imoen: Wild Mage(7 or 9)/Thief

Also BG1 comps:

Faldorn: Avenger
Dynaheir: Sorcerer
Eldoth: Jester
Kivan: Archer
Safana: Swashbuckler

I like Imoen the Bounty Hunter (detect traps and Illusions) / Mage... because she tracked you down from Candlekeep pretty fast.

Nalia I give a couple Mage levels before she receives her true calling and becomes a Cleric * to help the needy!

Viconia repeatedly asks for the blessing of SHAR in BG2 so Nightcloak of SHAR is a no brainer... read as Priest of TALOS if you don't have this Divine Remix kit.

* A shadowkeeper Nalia can be Mage (normal) and Priest of Lathander as her one kit... normally a kit class has to be taken first. :wub:

Why do you use Shadowkeeper rather than Lvl1NPCs?

Because it confuses me. Plus i managed to change Nalia successfully so it's not all bad.

The devine remix thing for Viconia sounds interesting, but that won't show in shadow keeper will it?

1st Divine Remix has a bit of a “does not play well with others” rep but this is because it’s a major rewrite of the magic system and therefore has potential issues with mods like SCS which also likes to rewrite spells...

2nd No shadowKeeper will not recognise the kit because it is not part of the basic game.

Having said that...

3rd You can easily just ran the install and pick only the kit requirements... they are;
Divine Remix Core Components (Required for Everything): v7 & Cleric Remix: v7

4th Say yes to the “Do you want to make Viconia into a Nightcloak of SHAR” (only paraphrasing here)... If you haven’t yet collected Viconia then that’s all you will need to do.

...&...or...

5th  If you have already got Viconia then say yes to “Install Nightcloak of SHAR Cleric Kit” instead... now open a save game (not the autosave) and change her kit to

0x40200000

Copy and paste it (see screenshot) into the box and she should now be a nightcloak.

p.s.  Humanoid_Taifun if you like Lvl1NPC better than Shadowkeeper then more power to you m8... SK is just a personal preference for me. :wub:

I find Level 1 NPCs easy enough to use, once you get the hang of it you should like it too. If you need help, ask for it here.

@ussnorway

That makes a lot more sense O.o
I will have to keep that should i decide to install other kits.
I wasn't keen on the Divine remix because of all the "spheres" stuff; too 3rd edition for me. Would be nice to get the kits without the sphere stuff (i have seen a mod which adds a few other cleric kits, but no Shar kit). Also applies to the Oozemaster - nice kit, but needs the priest spell remix.

If you want to use both Divine Remix and Jaheira, don't install the druid portions of the mod, or Jaheira will be restricted to leather armor and lose her usefulness as a tank.

There's a decent priest of Shar kit in Turambar Fixes and Tweaks.

@Belgarath: sounds like you don't know about one of the best armor available (early too) for druids. If you go to Windspear hills, an Ankheg will appear sometimes...take the shell and got to Cromwell and he will make AC 1 ankheg armor that a pure druid CAN use! Being restricted to bucklers only might be an issue, but less if using spear or staffs, and there's a lot of good ones of those types of weapons.

Spheres are orthodox pen and paper Second Edition rules that add some identity to each kit. At the Divine Remix part of the Gibberlings 3 website you can also find spreadsheets that show you what spells each kit gives you. CamDawg did one and I did another.

Best early Druid armor is Aeger's Hide. Druids can get a lot of mileage out of Sword and Shield Style and the Girdle of Piercing to cover for the deficiencies of bucklers.

Yeah was cool cos it let Faldorn Tank better in BG1; especially with her iron skins. :wizard:

Hi Ishad.  What do you mean by level 1 NPCs?  Are these the custom characters exported from multi-player?

Thanks.

It is a mod. Sample from the above;
"Q: So, what's this do, then?
A: You're offered a list of the NPCs who
can join your party and share your kooky adventures. You can choose
to tamper with some or all or none of them. Let's say you've chosen
Minsc. You can assign him any class that a PC could
have (Ranger Minsc! Fighter/Thief multi Minsc! Sorcerer... erm, Minsc!).
After selecting a class, you can assign a kit (if you like)...."
