Nothing against it, I just wonder. Of course if you're a girl, I understand.

In my case, to make my second play-through different from my first. The more you can customize your character (gender, looks, personality, class etc) the more times you can play through and the game will feel different, adding to replay value.

I haven't yet, but I plan on doing it in another couple playthroughs just to see a different side of the story. As femshep. Romance Garrus across the trilogy. See how that story plays out.

Because Garrus romance. And I don't really prefer one over the other, they're both fun to play.

I've played as both. Firstly as a male which feels more natural (as I'm male!) and then as fem. I wanted to see the game from a different perspective, and also check out the voice acting,

I think the femshep voice acting is better, but I somehow still prefer to play as male now. But hey, it's great to have the choice.

Hope maybe a future game could let us play as an alien.

1) I like her voice acting better
2) If im gonna spend 20+ hours, playing through all three games, I might as well be looking at a woman

Mass Effect is a roleplaying game. Maybe people want to roleplay a girl?

1) Matter of opinion. Personally, I think Hale is a ****** poor female version of David Caruso.
2) That's a lame reasoning. You can play male Shepard and look at Miranda.

1) He said "I like" so he is obviously only stating his opinion.
2) You cannot keep looking at Miranda forever. However you do always look at your playing character, male/female Shepard.

I play as female characters because I don't like being male in real life. Playing as a female character lets me temporarily escape the pain.

I used to play only male shep, but after trying out fem shep once I just feel like she fits the role more. To me the voice acting is much better and actually fits in with majority of the scenarios. The subtle change in her voice when she's irritated or the soft spoken tones when she's with he LI just fit perfectly into what I personally favor and meld with the scenes.
