Cause when I started ME1 I could not stand Mark Meer's voice. I dunno it drove me nuts. So I played Femshep. Yeah I'm a girl but I don't pick characters based on gender, especially with DA and ME because each sex is a little different and I like that. But then I played Broshep Renegade and found a new love for Mark. :)

Why not? I had several playthroughs in ME and ME2 with both male and female characters. It's a different flavor of the same game. I had planned to play them all through ME3, but that was before the crap ending and choices not mattering stuff.

I play both at different times.

The VAs make the Shepards seem like different characters even when they're reading the same lines.

Because I like playing as a strong female lead who wears proper armour in fights.

I'm a girl and like playing a female when given the choice. That choice isn't given often enough
Also, roleplaying.

1) Better voice actor
2) Better hair than Manshep
3) Looks sexy in Armor
4) Is a girl, has an advantage in sexual relationships
5) Can play the vulnerable 1 in a relationship
6) Plays more smoother and suits better with the role of Shepard
7) Doesn't mind getting down in trenches with her squad
8) Can choose between guys and girls, best of both worlds
9) Nobody is perfect, but Femshepard is Super girl

Nothing against it, I just wonder. Of course if you're a girl, I understand.

Female protagonists like Shepard are hard to come by.

Reason 1:
Image IPB

Reason 2:

I don't pick action movies based on how similar I am to the lead character. Femshep has a good story that I think suits her well.

I first started the game with a male Shepard, but I couldn't really get into it. So I decided to create a femshep, since it seemed more interesting at the time. I ended up falling in love with Mass Effect after that.

I also found it easier to relate to femshep, since I'm a girl. Which is funny, because I usually played male characters in other games because I found a lot female ones to be one dimensional and uninteresting (also because of eye candy).

I'm a guy

First of all Hale is a better voice actor, femshep feels much more natural and less factual, if that makes sense, when she speaks. Like everything that Meer says is spoken as a statement, it doesn't flow naturally. I'm also a fan of a strong female lead character, to this day i still think The Boss is the greatest female videogame character of all time. I do in fact lament that BioWare felt the need to perk her boobs up and give her a bigger butt on each subsequent installment, some guys don't go to jelly when you shove boobs in their faces, hard to believe i know.

Second of all, Garrus.

Honestly for me, its as simple as vocal performance. Jennifer Hale blows dudeshep's voice actor out of the water.

For the same reason people play Manshep - because they want to.

Is there a reason why people should not play games with a female protagonist?

They never played any Tomb Raider games.
