So who could they add? How? and Why?
The ME2 squad stuff is not going to happen unfortunately, so any alternatives?
Who could Bioware REALISTICALLY add to the Normandy as a full time squadmate? BE SERIOUS PLEASE

They're unlikely to pick a character who could have died in previous instalments.
A Batarian could work quite well, especially one who resented humanity and particularly Shepard for his actions in Arrival. The Batarian could be reluctant to join the Normandy at first but ultimately understands that helping Shepard is the best way for them to gain revenge on the reapers.
There is potential for interesting interactions with this kind of character.

I really think it's a shame they haven't explored this yet. It could make for some seriously good dialogue.

Well I wish they would choose someone like Kal'Reegar or Kirrahe. I mean without a Salarian aboard, you need Kirrahe to take the spot. But what I would hope they would do is something like a choice. Give you a choice of a few characters. Say three... One could be Reegar, one Kirrahe and one a character who is new. A batarian maybe. You choose one of them, maybe the other's die... How they would do it, I don't know. But I like the idea.

Reegar, Kirahee, and the ME2 squad are out unfortunately thanks to Bioware's art but who else would be an interesting choice? Maybe we can fill some of those empty spaces onboard the Norm.

I think if we are to get a new squardmate, it would be someone with abilities based off one of the multiplayer characters. A batarian sentinel or soldier would be the best choice in my opinion. The story opportunities are just too good, and they are one of the few races that have never been squadmates. Omega has a good deal of batarians, so the eventual Omega DLC would be a good place to put him.
I don't think Kirrahe will happen because you have to have imported from ME1 for him to be alive (the Genesis comic doesn't cut it).
Kal'reegar would be awesome, and he could use the MQE or MQI kit from multiplayer, but Adam Baldwin would probably cost more money than Bioware would like to spend on a DLC character. They didn't even tell him they were killing his character off in an email.
A vorcha would be an interesting twist, but he would have to be more interesting than just the standard "RAWR KILL THINGS. SPEAK LIKE HULK" vorcha.

Emily Wong's death still annoys me. She could have been the reporter on the Normandy for ME3, but NOOOOOOO, they had to introduce a brand new character that serves no purpose whatsoever; and from a gaming journalism company, which made it reek of shady-ness from the beginning.
