Shiala (if left alive in ME1), Gianna Parasini (if saved in ME1) and The Consort (Regardless). None of them have any role in ME3, so there is no need to work around any existing content with them currently in game.

Someone like Conrad Verner wouldn't work for that reason: you already meet him on the Citadel, so a DLC would be kinda awkward, since you could end up having him on your ship from the DLC, and then meeting him again "for the first time" on the docks.

So basically: any character who was NOT presented in ME3 yet. And I'm disregarding e-mails they could send you at that.

Come to think of it, Aria could be developed into a squadie, provided the option (DLC) to aquire her as a squadmember starts on the Citadel.

Bailey could join after Cerberus Attack.

Nick Donahue could replace Vega for all I care.

But overall, the amount of known candidates isn't too big, and mostly female. If LI's or flings are to be considered, we'd probably be left with mostly Asari. So it's more probable for new squadies to be newly introduced characters and not involve any LI options.

Still, I would definitely buy a DLC that would add Shiala to Liara's SB quarters on the Normandy!

Charr the Krogan. Instead of finding his corpse and letter we could find him alive and he'd join us instead of Grunt. Finding him alive = do the Rachni mission as soon as it is available or something.

I would love this, I have to run away when I deliver message on Citadel because I can't take that poem again :crying:.
Would definetly like a Krogan onboard, maybe Patriarch after Omega DLC. However would love Urdnot Darg or the unnamed Krogan that helps during the Grunt mission in ME2.

Realistically, I don't see Conrad Verner or Gianna Parasini being credible in a firefight. And really, the whole point of Conrad's character is that he thinks he's more competent at dangerous work than he is - bringing him on board the Normandy would pretty much throw that out the window.

I like the idea of a batarian joining the crew, especially since the Balak side mission is pretty much the only part of ME3 that deals with the batarians' fate and their role in the Reaper war. A new character from the salarian STG or Clan Urdnot would be good too (assuming that the current NPCs are not in the cards due to possibly being dead).

What do we know, lore-wise, about the other species' military capabilities? I gather that the volus mostly rely on the turians, but what about the elcor or hanar?

I'd really like a Male Quarian Infiltrator, or a Batarian.

It will have to be someone who can't be killed or missed in previous installments, so ME2 squaddies are probably out of the question as are Kirrahe, Shiala, Conrad, etc.

I imagine if they do add a new squadmate to the Normandy it will probably be a completely new character. Maybe an ex-cerberus dude with the biotic whips or a batarian with falcon punch. But I'd love to have Aria on board too.

Alliance uses Lazarus Project data to bring Kai Leng back to life, only with a control chip that makes him loyal to Shepard

Well, the interesting part is: They actually CAN add those characters in some DLC, and I think it would be a really nice gesture to old-time players. The thing is, whether that DLC would be useful to you, would depend entirely on your playthrough. And so would be your decision whether to purchase or install it or not.

They'd have to make it clear in advance that the content of the DLC would depend heavily on your decisions during the previous games, but overall: isn't that something we've all asked for several times? To see more continuations from the previous games? They can take place outside the main storyline, that's not really an issue I think. The biggest issue would be rounding up all the voice actors and creating all the models required.

I'd like to see a DLC with a mission to cure Keprals Syndrome. Thane isn't the only Drell assassin who would be valuable war asset...and the option for Thane's stab wound to not be fatal would be excellent!

So you know my pick! Thane!

Edited to add: It would be nice for a straight femshep to have another LI. If Kaidan dies on Virmire, Jacob "cheats," and Garrus isn't romanced in ME2, straight femshep is SOL.

Aria could. Honestly I think wrex could send a krogan your way. Maybe throw a yang in there (they have a prothean so it isn't that far out there). Maybe have another person be an LI. And for the record they added new LIs to me3 (which they said they wouldn't so I isn't impossible).

Emily Wong's death still annoys me. She could have been the reporter on the Normandy for ME3, but NOOOOOOO, they had to introduce a brand new character that serves no purpose whatsoever; and from a gaming journalism company, which made it reek of shady-ness from the beginning.

OK, I too would've preferred Emily Wong but when was it mentioned she died?

As for an additional squadmate or someone to take up residence in a vacant compartment on the Normandy I recommend Liara's mother (Matriach  Aethyta) take up position behind the bar.  She could tell war stories and such to the other crew.

Realistically? Nobody; from what I understand, some of the files have to already be in the game for squad members. We're not getting any more.

Yup. Temprorary-squadmates at most for new DLC missions.

Red Hood.

A Salarian Spectre*

Viktor Reznov the Vorcha Mercenary.

Or another Krogan squadmate. Some Krogan Biotic Sniper equivalent to Garrus would be cool.
