No, it doesnt.

This is where you're making the mistake. It appears that you're using characters that are less than 20 in level, and at the end of the match you're also gaining experience and leveling up. Leveling up (a class) adds to your N7 rating (as does promoting a class). Finishing a match by itself does not, although you do gain experience. When you promote a class you add 10 to your rating and put that class back at level 1, and when you (re)level up back to 20 from 1, you add a further 20. So every time you promote a class and level back up to 20, you add 30 to your N7 rating.MVestala wrote...
Well i've played a bunch of silver and gold matches in recent days / weeks, if you finish the round, it adds some points in your N7 from that alone.
Going off on a bit of a tangent here, but equipment-wise there's no reason why you shouldn't move on to silver at least. And the only thing that might keep you out of playing gold with the right classes is your low-level armour-piercing mods (most of the uncommons really need a piercing mod to get through the high damage reduction from armour on gold).starlitegirlx wrote...
I'm still new so I'm always on bronze and it hadn't occurred to me that people would drop to an easier level to level up. For me, promoting is a challenge. Good point though!

One example: Asari Justicar with Mattock X is one of my favourite setups for gold. Reave all the things!

Funny, was playing yesterday with someone who had an N7 of 7k+ (on PC). It's pretty rare to see these guys. Anyway, it was a classic U/U/G, we got Glacier/Geth, he was playing a GI with a high level Harrier. So I thought, ok, he should be able to carry his own weight. He ragequitted by wave 3. Apparently, being outdone by a FQE *gasp* makes someone take stupid risks and he repeatedly got himself killed.Ronnie Blastoff wrote...
ya know this BS excuse is getting really old, idk what N7s you people are claiming to be terrible but I've not played with a person higher than 5K who has ever been terrible. Some less reliable than others, but not as stupid as say a random N7 120 would be. Terrible isn't being at the bottom of the scoreboard or not carring the entire team like a lot of the lower (n7120...) people seem to be expecting, but more along the lines of what a N7 120.... would do like go into the open and get his/her azzes handed to them and blame someone else for failing a mission. Or like a game a had a while back, a person N7 500ish "thinking" they know what the hell they're doing and not really having a clue on how the AI works.Hammer6767 wrote...

The problem is that it looks stupid. It also makes you look like a person who just buys packs and has no experience playing the game.
I would say the person who assumes that would be the one who is "stupid". You can not tell how experienced/good someone is if their N7 ranking is 120 or above. You can get a better idea based on the weapons and gear they have, but that still isn't an great indicator. You CAN get a good idea of how good someone is based on what weapons/gear they equip and if they work with the team.
I have played with 120 level folks who were some of the best I have ever played with. I have played with N7 3000+ people who were just terrible.
Anyway, there is no N7 5K+ (least none I've ever played with, and there are only 160 of them on XBL including me) who hasn't at least carried they're own weight and used more common sense than a random N7 120 EVER has. There may be a handfull of 120s that know what they're doing, but honestly THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING because they don't promote, and like every other N7 120 my 1st thought is letting them know they should try a easier difficulty while I hit the boot button.
I'll actually give some weight to the "N7 doesnt mean anything BS" when it actually shows fruit.
Btw N7 3K is not a high N7.... there is a legit N7 20K on XBL, and at least 15 10K legit N7s. You could be a 3K N7 only playing bronze if you played since release.
And there's a way of knowing if a low N7 ain't too shabby. Their loadouts.

Lol no.
Also look at my manifest, I'm N7 120. I just don't promote, like those guys you saw.

So, i played a few matches on PC this morning before i went to work and i saw couple guys wielding level X (Maximum) rare weapons with only less than 200 N7 rank. Should it be possible? One of the guys had 123 rank if i remember correctly, Reegar Karbine and Arc pistol at X. Didn't take a screenie from the lobby, doh!
What do you think?
