It never changed it was always the entire class that got promoted.

....no, you're wrong. The entire class counts as one promotion. It has never counted each character as one promotion.

all you had to do was promote 2 classes (or the same one twice.) the level that they were at the beginning of the event makes no difference. so, if you had 2 lvl 20 classes at the start of event you had a head start.

But just for future reference, once you get a class to level 20, go to your character screen (where you select which character/class to be) and click on the level 20 class. There should be a "promote" button there.

^that's assuming you're on a pc. I don't know for the other two.

(Sigh)... I thought this objective was going to be a no brainer but I guess some people still somehow didn't understand it. Say you hit the promote button 5 times that equals 5 promotions. I did my part with 6the promotions

Easier all around to say "two characters" and forego the "classes" part altogether. That adds a different connotation and is part of the problem with any underlying confusion.

Promote two characters, just like Bioware said, and you're golden; classes are irrelevant.

I have all classes sitting at level 20, but sorry I didn't get to contribute. Been away, though even if I wasn't..well, I don't have enough playing time to re-level my characters. Thanks for the victory pack, I'm sure we'll still get it.

It's pretty simple: When you promote, do you go select a specific character, say N7 Destroyer, or do you promote soldier and all the unlocked characters within soldier?

Unless you've got a different Mass Effect 3 than I do, the entire soldier class, e.g., all unlocked soldier characters, go from level 20 to level 1. How some people think that means: class * number of characters == number of promotions,  I don't know. I guess it's a "I was born after 1987 and don't know how to read anything other than text messages and IMs" thing.

Please go read a book other than Twilight or Hunger Games. I promise, literacy and comprehension beyond what could generously be called barely functional, is quite rewarding.

Wrong 1 class counts as 5 characters. soilders has 6 if u have battlefield. they do have to be unlcoked tho



I'm not sure if you participated in the second weekend event, but I did, and they said the exact same thing. He said promote "two characters" and people were confused (as they are now.) He then clearified on the thread that that actually meant two seperate classes. This is the exact same thing. If you don't believe me, message him.

characters mean geth, turian, krogan etc.
class means soilder, infiltrator, engineer etc.

so
for the op when u say promote three characters is it promote one class
with three characters unlocked or promoted 3 classes cause im confused.

I would just like to say I was born in '88, understand how promotions work, and just finished reading some Vonnegut. Not to throw your theory outthe window or anything...
