I cannot believe this is still being debated. For those who believe that promoting a class somehow promotes multiple characters, you're flat out wrong. Even if you have all of the characters in a class specd out, when you promote it still counts as one. If a person has all of the characters in a certain class unlocked and promotes, he would not count more towards the goal than someone who only has 3 characters unlocked and promotes the class. It is one for one.

When they say "promote two characters" you still have to do two separate promotions (i.e. two different classes), not one promotion with however many characters are in that class. I know some of you are saying that Chris explained it differently for a previous mission, however, after reading what he said, it was the same. It's just like when you promote, it doesn't matter how many characters you have specd out in a certain class, your N7 rating still only goes up by 10, not by 70 if you have all 7 of the specd.

Your level up the whole class, not just a single character from the appropriate class.

For example, if your infiltrator class is at level 7, all your available infiltrator characters will be at level 7.

The rules did state that you just had to promote two.  That being said, I have never even tried to promote with anything less than a level 20, so I don't know if it would count or not.

You can not promote a class  that is under lvl 20 . Promoting does not mean levelling up from say lvl 1 to lvl 10

What promoting means for this operation is promoting  your level 20 class characters  into your single-player game as a war assett  worth  points, which goes towards military strength.

^these added to the massive amount of reasons that "promoting a class with seven characters counts as seven promotions" doesn't make a lick of sense.

Why are we still debating about how to promote? Just click promote for your 2 classes.

lol how are ppl confused what promote means? theres a button called promote, it only shows up when you hit the cap at level 20. if you didnt click promote you didnt contribute to the Op, period.

Promote doesnt mean level up to 20, it means Promote your level 20 class to get War Assets for solo game, boost your N7 rating and reset the characters in that level 20 class to 0

Confusion is like an infectious disease. In the beginning it makes completely sense to all, but one. That person starts to broadcast his/her confusion and starts to make others doubt their assertions. A very simple task becomes clouded in overstretched and far-fetched explanatory debates. It's fascinating really.

Did we succeed or not? Im out of the loop so it seems? I promoted my vanguard and my Adept, the other 4 i promoted before I even knew about the event so i wasn't going to be able to level them back up again soon enough with the time i had for playing.

I'm new to the whole community aspect of gaming and I have to say it sounds exciting. So I'm kind of glad the first op I'll be participating in is easy. I'll just promote any characters I already have at 20 then keep playing and promote them as soon as reach 20 to help everyone out. That boost to the medi-gel sounds helpful because it seems like we run out quick on the tougher difficulties. Well I'll be playing on my Xbox this weekend I hope we all have a good time.

They haven't even posted if it was a success, which is then followed by victory packs, and finally commendation packs (as the latter have to be hand-picked).

No, not specifically. There was Op. Savage (22nd of June) but that was to kill 7 million troopers (Cannibals, Assault Trooper and Geth Trooper).

But that woulde be interesting. An Op. Excorcist (kill 1.5 million phantoms) succeeded, and Op. Silencer (kill 3 million banshees) failed - so: maybe next Op.: Kill 2.250.000 Geth Primes? Call it  Operation Static

Considering how many people farm on FBW/G/G , I think killing 2.25 million Geth Primes won't be a problem. Bioware bring on Operation Static, or whatever you want to call it.
