In real life, I don't think I'd ever force synthesis on anyone. I'd happily give myself to the transhumanist singularity (as long as it isn't that corporate version where the free to play backups of me have limited consciousness), but I would never want someone to do that if it wasn't their choice.

Not to worry though, synthesis is space magic, so that version of a transhumanist singularity isn't going to happen. Ever.
