Make a fun RPG where choices really matter.Don't DuesEx the ending.I played that ending in 2001 and hated it then.Stop with the flea on a hot plate combat. The ending does matter
If you add DLC later, don't ignore the impact it should have on the ending of the game.If the game has an ending and it's not put off till the next chapter.

Eh.. DA2 has me very negatively disposed to Dragon Age as a whole.

If all the characters are "lolbi", forget about it.

If the demo is a stupid boring thoughtless button masher, no.

Other than that, I'll largely be going off the feedback of other forumites. I have no specific demand other than it be something I beyond a reasonable doubt will not regret purchasing.

You are not rambling Terror-K, its fine. And I am not offended by the different options in that regard at all, it's more of just fatigue on my part after a long day and just not wanting to deal with it for now.

And I want to be clear, both games are on par for me in terms of mechanics and gameplay. I don't prefer a voiceless protagonist or a voiced one, it doesn't matter much to me in the long run.

That's completely fair. (I'm guessing that you're responding to my post and accidentally typed the wrong username )

Why even bother making this request when you know good and well David has already said no repeatedly on both counts?

And that's why BioWare is fail these days and why Dragon Age 3 will be fail. When BioWare just stubbornly refuses to budge on issues that are key to proper, in-depth roleplaying like that because they think cinematic design and flow are more important, it shows just how screwed up their priorities are these days.

In what way was I requesting it? I was stating what would get me to purchase the game (you know, like the thread title says to do).

How is Bioware failing? They've said they're not interested in what you're peddling and instead of respecting their decision to shape the games they created the way they want, you complain. Not only do you complain about their 'crippled' rpgs, but you continue to buy every 'crippled' rpg they can churn out.The fail is yours alone to bare, terror. You can either reform and get with the program or drift off to another company where your needs can be met instead of screaming in this glass house.I think seeing that dragon age 3 badge under your avvy will cheer bioware up :)

BioWare is fail and has failed because it's been warping its own IPs that were meant to be something with depth and strong RPG mechanics for their existing fans into mainstream drivel aimed at the masses. I can't respect a company that welcomes me with one hand and then stabs me in the back with another. They're not making games of quality and proper RPGs any more, they're just pandering to the mainstream masses these days. DA2 was an insult for almost everything the original Dragon Age Origins was supposed to be and represent. They create great IPs, then crap all of them with the sequels, because they care more about making games for mass appeal than they do about making them actually good. They don't care about player agency and roleplaying, they just care about their precious cinematic flow and telling their story. It's all about over-the-top, sexified and bombastic cinematic action scenes interspliced with similarly over-the-top action packed combat.

So no... I'm not going to respect BioWare's decision to stab it's old fans in the back and turn its own back on its roots in favour of mainstreamlining and pandering to potential new fans and watering things down because the RPG elements and conversations that were once strong in its games scare the Modern Warfare audience. I'm not respecting BioWare's decision to circumvent control and player agency and bastardise the RPG genre for the sake of chucking out rushed and lazy cinematic action games.

And as such, you won't see a Dragon Age 3 badge under my avatar. Mass Effect 3 was strike three after Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2. I bought all the DLC for DAO, but have bought none for DA2, and it'll stay that way. And DA3 is a waste of time. It'll just be Dragon Age 2.5. The fact that they've been wasting their time making this horrible drivel using money that I've given them over the years for not only games, but things like Mass Effect lithos, books, comics, action figures, lithos, etc. makes me sick to my stomach... a bit like giving a hobo $20 bucks and then seeing him walk straight to the liquor store, skull the booze down, then smash the bottle against and wall and stab be in the face with the jagged shards.

So why the hell don't you just leave if you feel this a sinking ship? Do you stay to get your rocks off with your -theory of what and RPG is, or is it just to berate people who you feel are "lesser" because they like something you don't? Oh, I know, it's because you want attention, like every other attention **** on the internet who thinks their word is the end all, be all to theories they barely understand, especially in a field which has no definition to it, and never will.

THIS is the attitude I hate. The entitled, angry over nothing, narrow minded thinking with no respect or regard to the opinions of those around them. You can cite as many reasons as you like, cry betrayal at the top of your lungs like a banshee, and come to boards and harass, demonize, or bully whoever disagrees with you because you are upset and make presumptions on what is happening, as if you know what the f*ck to do in the end.

So shut the f*ck up about your displeasure and stop with the baseless animosity, or get off of the damn boards if you are so displeased with the way the company does things.

Not sure if this is directed to me or not, but while I appreciate the compliment and the agreeance, right now I am feeling extremely negative after reading the post above me...I don't think encouragement is a wise thing because then I would just lay it on thicker...which I am struggling with right now...a lot...

Okay... when did this become so personal. I don't recall "berating, harassing or bullying" you when we disagreed about the voiced PC thing earlier. You stated your opinion, and I stated mine, both of us using examples and opinions to stake our case. We disagreed in the end still, but I don't recall doing any of those things you state above. In fact, if anybody is doing these things, it's you in telling me to "shut up and go away!" I'm not actually insulted, but... I'm just wondering where this came from? You seem almost more irate at me being irate than I am at BioWare.

Anyway... here's the basic points. You wonder why I don't go. It's simple, because of the following:

1) BioWare will never learn a thing if everybody who is displeased with their recent efforts just walks away and all that are left are their supporters. It needs to be made clear to them what their issue is, and that's only going to happen with repeatedly telling them this, and the more people doing this the better, IMO. If all that's left are people singing their praises for mediocrity and continuing down this path, then all they are going to do is keep creating mediocrity and keep going down the same path. This isn't about hating recent BioWare so much as it is about loving the old BioWare.
2) One doesn't have to be a fan of everything a developer does to be on their boards. I'm still a fan of DAO, ME1, NWN, BG, KotOR, JE, etc. so why should I leave because their recent games insult me? I'm still a fan of what they once were, even if I'm not a fan of what they've become. I'm still a Star Trek fan even though I hated Enterprise and J.J. Abrams' movie, and still a Stargate fan though I loathed SGU, etc. and I'm still a Mass Effect fan though I hated ME3 and I still like Dragon Age Origins even Dragon Age is dead to me beyond that.

I am not requesting those features (because me asking for Bioware to implement X, Y, and Z is pointless), I am making a statement in a discussion thread about what would likely make me consider purchasing DA3. I posted here because I like discussing things with fellow forumites, not because I expect anyone at Bioware to act upon anything I (or anyone else) says.

Nothing personal, but stop with the innocent crap. You are much smarter than that to know what I am referring to, especially since I quoted it above anyway. The attitude is the problem, along with the presumptions on how things work, and how someone needs to "learn a lesson" they never needed in the first place.

If you really, feel this strongly about it, posting on a forum is the last thing you would do. You would actually get your butt over there or send letters weekly to their door, stop buying products for good and remove your registered games from their listing. That would be true fan devotion, not arguing with nobodies on the internet. That would mean you stand for something through conviction and dedication. Instead, you just sit here and hope they hear you while the sound is drowned out by the calls of fans and haters alike, all pulling "the direction the company has to go to please me" line at the same time because they love, hate, or are nostalgic for something.

As for your reasons, I honestly don't give a damn either. If thats why though, fine. Thats your perogative, I won't take that away from you and withdraw my request for you to leave.

Unless if the need for it being a request is irrelevent, and in the case of his posting, it is to him.

Not trying to get into an argument or anything, just pointing out that this is kinda silly...

Uh...the point he was making is that he posted just for the sake of posting what he wanted.

That doesn't make it any less a request

Unless if the need for it being a request is irrelevent, and in the case of his posting, it is to him.

Not when he throws in a threat not to buy the game if those features aren't Included

Au it's no problem link, it's just chunky made a statement and he will own up to it.This is just the way it must be.

I'm not "threatening" Bioware, I am telling other posters what would make me buy DA3 (That's what the whole thread is about)

This is what's called a forum, and in a forum people often like to participate in discussions for the fun of it. Threads within a forum often have specific subjects that you post about. This thread's subject is "What can DA3 specifically do to get you to purchase it?". Because of that, I made a post relevant to the topic for the sake of participating in the current discussion.

This is distinguished from a request, in which a person trys to convince someone (Like Bioware) to alter their behavior or do something for them.

the OPTION for a silent protagonist and full text dialogue. Without that, I won't be purchasing it.

The thread question ask for request and your post is posed as a request

All Bioware has to do is make DAO2...
DA2 was a mutation of Mass Effect diologue wheel a dash of DAO and street fighter II Combat thrown in.

DA2 should've been marketed as a different game within the genre ME,DAO,Alpha Protocol ect... diologue consequence rpg games.

DA2 could've been succesfull as a stand alone game.maybe not epic like ME and DAO but couldve been considered a great game. But wouldve recieved criticism for the repetative maps.
The mistake was not making DAO2,Instead they made a completly different game and disposed of the formula that fans loved in DAO

That definition is in the context of asking someone to do something for you. I am not asking Bioware for anything (as I have stated repeatedly).

If I'm on the Ford forums and state that I will not purchase the next Mustang unless it has a V-8, I am not making a request to Ford that they comply with my wishes. I am making a statement in a thread because I like talking to other Ford enthusiasts
