I'm using Windows 8 RTM, the latest version of Adobe Air, and the Origin version of DA: O Ultimate. Whenever I launch the game using the launcher, I get the AWC.dll misconfiguration error. I've tried deleting the contents of EACore_App.ini, and also uninstalling and reinstalling the EACoreServer application, but to no avail. Because of this, I assume that there is some incomptibility with the EA online activation program and Windows 8. Has anyone else tried running Dragon Age, or some other game that uses this activation method, on Windows 8? If so, and you have it working, there must be a different problem with my installation.

I had no problem installing the UE (retail disc) on my Win8/64-bit Release Preview (Build: 8400).
Didn't even have to enter any "Activations Codes" for the DLC, just my CD-Key at the start of the process.
(Although I did get a pop-up about the .NET Framework 2.0, which I just ignored...)
Am running through Leliana's Song as a test, since I didn't want to bother creating a new character.
Finished with the Denerim Market, and ready to enter the Arl's Estate.

I don't think the retail version uses the EA activation program. I think it uses some sort of disc-check DRM instead. It's good to know that the retail version is working, though.

Oh, it absolutely does use the EA activation process...
But since the UE includes everything, it's pretty straight-foward what's "authorized".

Posting here to hopefully see if anyone has the fix, I'm missing the nxCharacter.dll and physx file. But they're both there and available. So I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm running W8 Pro.
