Do you think DA3 is Bioware's last chance to keep the fans of their older games interested?

Some people will buy BioWare stuff regardless of what the company does.
Others will consider DA 3 a "last chance".
Others still would have considered either DA 2 or ME 3 as BioWare's "last chance", if not games before those ones. So, they would not be interested.
And finally, there are those who would judge and buy the games on it's individual merits.

I am sure the font size and the amount of prune juice will be heavily debated.mousestalker wrote...
If they want to keep the old fans interested, then the game should have subtitles in large type and come with a coupon for prune juice.
BTW: What font are they using? Any idea what brand prune juice?

Mass Effect 3 was a much better overall experience, but the shift towards multiplayer and "monetizing" players through multiplayer microtransactions is really turning me off.
This is worsened by the slow trickle of single player ME3 DLC being released. I know some of it was delayed because they were working on the EC endings but still. It's clear where their focus is heading and I am just not in that target demographic.

People from Shattered Steel days? Baldur's Gate? Knights of the Old Republic?
I guarantee you that there are people who's first game from BioWare was Dragon Age and they consider themselves "old fans" at this point.
Also, "old fans" is horribly homogenizing a group of unrelated people, typically with the intent that the speaker means they all feel as he or she does... which is unlikely the case.
I guess I would consider myself an "old fan" - I bought a 360 just for Mass Effect, after all, and played KotOR when it came out despite my dislike of Star Wars stuff. I bought and played Baldur's Gate when it came out (but never finished it, not a favorite game of mine by a mile)...
but my tastes aren't going to compare to those whom see Baldur's Gate as the pinnacle of cRPGs, or who felt like NWN was the second coming. Heck, I found Jade Empire passably fun and there are "old fans" who find that one of BioWare's finest.
You can't really group a bunch of people like that. It's not effective.
Maybe you could say "90's cRPG fans who loved the BG series" or "those who worship KotOR" or some such...
but "old fans"? That could even mean fans over the age of 50, of whom many may love DA2 and ME3. *shrug*

I also require reading glasses and am over the age of 50.
'Senior fan' is the preferred term.

As for the topic, MerinTB nailed it. There's no cohesive group of "old fans" in the first place.

Besides ME3 was already the "Last Chance" and they fraked it up so bad it's not even funny, now people are going for the "Last, Last Chance for realz".

I just won't pre-order and won't expect anything good just because it has the BW label on it. "Wait and see", peer and fan reviews to decide if I buy it

One is a player designed myth based on hope and dreams, the other is about Shepard being Reaper controlled.

They'll always be able to maintain some of the old fans provided they continue to provide what they're really interested in, the "romances".
That's something I don't get. Romances are non-essential and just small sub-plots, not really important to any of the games BioWare has released, yet everyone seems to think it's the biggest of big deals. To each their own, but I don't think people should care that much about that.
As for buying DA3, I won't, ME3 was their last chance for me at least. I doubt anything will change and if it does I'll be surprised. DA3 will make the same mistakes that ME3 and DA2 did and it will probably have additional problems as well. I might buy it, if it turns out to be as good as DA:O which I doubt but I'm not preordering or buying anything until I see reviews and not from sites like IGN and Gamespot.
