hi everybody ! just wandering how the effect of deathblow on the limbaker work. is it adding 25% chance of deathblow to the chance of massacre to trigger meaning i will have 25% chance of the deathblow effect to trigger outside of massacre ? or would it be useless if i have the massacre passive, etc ,etc. i just want to know how the deathblow effect work on the limbbaker.
thanks in advance for your answer.

Massacre will trigger always against enemies with 20% (grunts) or 10% (elites) health remaining. I'm guessing the deathblow effect on limbtaker would allow you to trigger the massacre effect 25% of the time (per strike) without actually having the massacre passive. so w/ massacre, I believe it'll be moot.

how you sure, because i had notice that i killed ennemies faste with limbtaker, and they were not at 20% of their health. could it be possible that the 25% chance of deathblow is applied only on normal or lesser mobs and do not stack with massacre but is a completly different effect ?
from what i've seen, ennemies of normal or lesser rank drop dead sometime from about 40% of their health. it could be me that just has too much strengh/willpower, but i was using a lv.26 character, so, i don't think it my damage that take them down, because 40% of their health and the last swing, one or two mob were dead. i did notice a tiny small difference, because habitually, i do not outright kill a normal ranked ennemy with 1 swing, it take me 2-3 swing with limbtaker, for kill a group of normal ranked ennemies, depending on the group size and if they are clustered together.
is it possible possible that the 25% chance of dealthblow from limbtaker, is a totally different effect from the deathblow of the massacre ability, is only appliable on normal or lesser ranked ennemies and that it has nothing to do with massacre ? because, as i was tolded, i had seen a little difference, sometime in a fight. they were 1 or 2 ennemies that drop from 40%-30% health to outright dead, and sometime and i even see a normal ennemy drop frm 50% health !
it could be me, but i swear a have seen a little difference, not too much, but since dragon age 2 has more normal or lesser ranked ennemies that elite or higher ranked ennemies, i think limbtaker is worth the deathblow effect, but if you go after like, and ennemies like an assassin, and elite or other ennemies that has high health bar, i think you'd better be to change weapon.
again, i have seen a little difference, not too much like i said, but in a fight, it could make difference.

As I've said I'm guessing the limbtaker's effects. It could be possible that limbtaker allows you to deathblow grunts 25% of the time regardless of their health level. The same could be possible for elites/bosses but that would make it too strong or the chances might be significantly reduced.

Are you a berserker? That's the only time willpower would factor in to dmg. Based on your tests, we can conclude that it's a separate effect from massacre. The questions left to be answered is when does that 25% chance come into play (50% life?) and against who can it work (grunts only)?

Good on you for testing. I usually kill elites/bosses 1st so I'll definitely pass on the limbtaker even with the new info. I deal enough dmg vs. grunts to take them down quickly enough w/ deathblow.
