Detonating Tech armor or a squadmate dealing a large amount of damage to banshee who's picking you up MAY result in her dropping you..

IIRC it's more to do with the Force of the attack, not the damage and it affects all sync-kills (just the others are so much quicker its hard to interrupt in time). Krogan heavy melee is very good for sync-interrupting as well. This can work so well that a pair of Krogans can usually go for some tandem melee against sync killers with impunity, provided they can withstand the normal damage the enemy is pumping out.

Also, if you're getting shot while being synced, occasionally you'll die from that damage and just drop to the ground before the banshee (etc.) can finish their auto-kill.

If you are out in the open and a decoy has the attention of most of the baddies and you cloak, don't be surprised if they switch aggro over to you. :pinched:

When using Tactical Cloak remember just because you can't be seen doesn't mean you can't be hit.

One thing I try and do is to anticipate where the next 4 hack objective is going to be especially when I run my drell. I guess right more often than not and can get to the objective and get it going very quickly. Also if you do not have a designated hacker like an infiltrator and you have two people at the hack take off in opposite directions as soon as he hack is done and you will get a jump on the location of the next one.

Oh and Jesus, that's another thing. I always find myself screaming at people: "don't follow the infiltrator!!!!". But as per usual there's always somebody trying to "help" by hoovering the enemies towards them.

Dodge when you fall/jump off a ledge to avoid the annoying landing animation.

Use ballistic blades/krogan headbutt to avoid geth stunlocking batarians/krogan in place.

Use amps. It makes gold feel like silver with more enemies.

Don't follow the infiltrator to the 4 disable objectives.

Being a good tank doesn't require taking a lot of fire, but simply drawing a lot of fire.

Shoot your gun in-between power spam. Use your powers in-between gun spam.

If you are a paladin, wait until the shields are down on heavily armored baddies before using a shield bash to debuff the armor. If you are going to get that up close make sure it counts.

Most of my advice comes from the perspective of a Human Engineer, so I don't have a whole lot of biotic tips.

Rolling gives you a damage reduction (pretend this is Vanquish!).

So long as you aren't locked onto anything else, you can use hit-scan powers the sameway you can use weapons.

The Phantom's sword can be broken, and the best time to do this is when it throws up the hand shield.

Firing rockets at the ceiling (if available) is advised, as there is no cover to protect enemies.

Piercing mods (in terms of ignoring armor resistance) work best on rapid fire weapons (essentially regardless of damage).

Your shield gate keeps you alive more often than your shields themselves (on classes with ~500 shields).

Cryo ammo weakens armor, meaning everyone does more damage (whether or not they themselves have cryo ammo), effectively making cryo ammo better than AP ammo in some situations.

Incinerate can detonate fire explosions off of incendiary ammo, which works well against Ravagers/Swarmers.

Overload/Energy Drain/Arc Grenades can detonate tech bursts off of disruptor ammo.

Incinerate can detonate overload, causing more damage than a second overload would against shields.

Tech bursts always stop synch kills (if completed early enough of course).

Incinerate and incendiary ammo continue to affect Phantoms when they are cloaked, making it so that they can still be locked on to when they are cloaked.

Most equipment pieces follow a 10%-20%-30% curve (across I-II-III).

Fix'd.

No matter how, when, or where you cloak, Enemies WILL see you. Period. Its just a matter of if they deem you a threat or not.

On 1, 2, 3, 4 activation/deactivation missions, no matter who goes, the other three team members should draw the enemies AWAY.
Meaning, do NOT follow the objective, shoot EVERYTHING. Unless you're a Paladin, then slap your shield down and cover their butt.

Dealing significant damage to a Banshee is the most reliable way to get her to drop someone. This means one or two players firing on her full auto with guns like the Hurricane, Harrier and PIranha. Biotic Explosions can do the trick, but you need a boosted explosion, and the window to interrupt a Banshee isn't that large.

Damage over Time effects like Inferno Grenades, Arc Grenades Incendiary Ammo, and Reave are self-stacking, and incredibly powerful. Apply them to entire spawn groups if you can, multiple times. Take advantage of the large area of effect on the grenades to burn as many enemies as possible. Incendiary Ammo is also quite useful if you're already dealing large amounts of weapon damage. This scales to all difficulties, and lets you deal large amounts of damage while staying in cover.

Contrary to what most people will tell you, if you have a good connection to the host you can use Biotic Charge relatively safely, as long as you do so only sparingly, or over short distances. Avoid using Biotic Charge while under fire. A class like Human Vanguard, that works best when charging constantly over long distances will always experience a gradual desynch, and will likely see some input lag even as host. If you want to use a vanguard off-host, Asari, Krogan and Ex-Cerberus are your best choices, but it's better to just not play Vanguard.

The primary cause of the Vanguard glitch with good connections is the delay on Charge's activation: It happens when Charge goes off after you die.  As a result, the Krogan Vanguard is relatively safe, since even with Shields broken, the delay on Biotic Charge usually isn't long enough for enemies to drop him.

Usually when you have a laggy connection with the host you'll experience some jitter after moving a lot. You can't resolve it completely, but you can mitigate it by moving slower, or holding your position for a moment. The "vanguard glitch" can be caused by moving faster than your connection to the host can handle, so if your connection's bad enough you can experience the glitch with any character.

By all means, do stay near the Infiltrator when they're going for the objectives... but this means within a 10 second running distance. Sometimes enemies spawn where they're not expected and can harass the Infiltrator hacking an objective. Their best protection is having people close enough to distract or kill the enemy, but not so close they draw the enemy to the device's location. This is VERY map dependant though. On a mid-size map like Firebase White or larger, they'll usually go unmolested. On smaller maps, try to have line of sight of sight on the objective.

Charge the acolyte, hold X, cloak, Shadow strike.

This achieves the following:

You charge the acolyte.
You hold X for a few seconds.
You turn invisible.
You initiate Shadowstrike.
The acolyte fires itself on reaching the target, stripping their shields.
You kill the enemy.
You then automatically switch to your second weapon, which is hopefully a pirahna with smartchoke/piercing or smartchoke/barrel with armor piercing.

This way, you get to do the most melee damage you can from stripping shields AND having the melee stunner mod, whilst not having to worry about having to initiate the weapon swap animation, very handy for boss units or those tricky units like Phantoms/Pyros.

Use a missile to clear out the large number of mobs around a fallen team mates body before trying to rez him, even if you have T.C.

The Falcon Assault Rifle staggers enemies up to phantoms with each hit, however you must wait for the stagger animation to clear before you can stagger them again.  Slow your shots down by half a second or so and you can keep even those four phantoms locked down.

The Falcon applies its ammo power to everyone caught in the blast radius each time.

If an enemy has sheilds and armor, and you can strip the shields with one arc grenade, fire a homing grenade first then throw the arc grenade, the arc grenade travels much faster and unless you are point blank will strip the shields just in time for the homing grenade to hit strait armor.

Thermal clip packs refill grenades as well as ammo. [you will be supprised by the number of people who still dont know that]

Smart choak make the N7 Crusader less accurate.

The AP does nothing for any weapon that spawns a projectile.

The Falcon, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Graal Spike Thrower, Striker Assault Rifle, Kishock Harpoon Gun, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Acolyte and Scorpion spawn projectiles.

Ultra light materials for SMG's currently only work if you are also using a heavy pistol with Ultra light materials as well.

The front of the fighter on Firebase white provides no cover, it is low enough that enemies can shoot over it and high enough off the ground that enemies can shoot under it as well.

The L - shaped pipe on Fire base Condor is a horrable place to take cover, enemies coming from four different directions can shoot over it easily.

Spamming Electric slash, biotic slash or Smash is NOT a good tactic in the middle of firebase hydra.

Not sure I totally agree with this.  A fair number of times there are enemy stragglers so you can't just assume that the person doing the hack is going to be free and clear as long as the rest of the team is fighting elsewhere.   with infils do not follow, others, maybe.  In any case unless you are all miced up and know who is going for the objectives often more than one person rushes to it anyway.

When using a weapon that has a grand total of more then 1 M in penetration, firing at a somewhat steep upward angle at the window of an atlas will cause you to shoot it twice with one bullet.

With this, you can take any boring old infiltrator with a Raptor, and find yourself down down an atlas in 15 seconds.

Tactical Cloak is not a perfect defense; if enemies see you while you're cloaking they'll remember your last position for a few seconds afterward. If you use a power, fire a weapon, or run past an enemy they can "hear" you. Brenon Holmes has explained the mechanics behind enemy awareness.

The best way to remain hidden while cloaked is to change position quickly, and move from cover to cover. Keep your distance from enemies, and if you need to move past them, do so as quickly as possible.

As with all things in the game, latency can and will screw you over. If you have a poor connection to the host, give up all hopes of stealth. If your connection to the host is bad enough though, marvel as enemies start completely ignoring you (works best with Adrenaline Mods).

This is a great tip and something I have not thought about.  I'll make a concentrated effort to try this out over the next few days.

When you're revived, mash X to reload or hold X to swap weapons while you're in the get up animation. Works just the same as you're walking around normally.

Neat trick with human using claymore. Shoot pop adrenaline rush and immeadeatly shoota gain with no reload.

Same idea works with desrtroyer using typhoon. have to pop an ammo pack and it instantly reloads the gun allowing you to build up the damage modifier to crazy levels.

1: If your a krogan and the pizza objective occurs, grab it and headbutt constantly (which frankly you should be doing anyway if you're a true krogan) it will make you go faster than anyone else. If you are under fire then heavy melee because you will receive a DR.

2: If you are a destroyer with devastator mode on, DO NOT PICK UP THE PIZZA!

3: If you are a squishy class and you take the pizza when a krogan is trying to get it, leave it for him. Even if he doesn't know the headbutt trick he has better survivability and is more likely to make it.

Additional tip: Whilst soft meleeing with the pizza, walk sideways. Your movement speed becomes rediculous.

Or, if you have an Adrenaline Module III equiped, GRAB THE PIZZA. You'll still move as fast as another average character would normally, Making it easier to be defended.

might wanna add that you dont need to use a ammo pack, you CAN empty your weapon  without being in devastator mode, then turn on devastator mode and the clip fills without a reload... in the same way using a ammo pack, but without the cost ... just sayin.

Either one is still nice not having to  go through reload animation
