You're not alone. This is why I hope we don't stay in Orlais long. It makes me groan thinking about it.

You'd have to think Bioware isn't going to make everyone in Orlais have French accents though. That would be...annoying. I don't even want half the people in Orlais to show native French tongue. Come up with some lore that says the marjority of people around Orlais don't speak with a French accent. Something. Anything. Please. I wanted to pop my ears after listening to the Duke in MOTA. And he was a true native French speaker, ugh...

Sorry but if the story is going to be heavily focused in Orlais, I need to feel like I'm native so I can better relate to the people.I can't imagine there would be very much immersion walking around in french Orlais with a foreign Ferelden accent.

"Who eez thez woman teagaaaan!" Honestly the orleisian accents made me cringe in both games. Leliana's accent was the only one I liked. I hope they don't give the PC an orleisian accent.

If the PC is voiced by a French actor/actress...will not be buying the game lol.

The sexiest accents are from UK and Australia. Hawke was fine. I actually liked their VO actor/actress.

Duke sounded like he was pompous...and it was annoying. Kinda felt like humor that was out of place...

Bioware is usually good at placing humor.

There is no need to express long winded discontent of french accents as there are french users who use these forums, don't be insensitive jerks.

I am curious though: Any native french actually annoyed by, well, american accents, welsh accents, or scottish accents? Or annoyed that Orlais, based on France in a way, would be "voiced" by all british accents?

Ze ivil djermän in me is just glad we haven't travelled to ze Anderfels yet....

The one family in DA2 that was Orlesian (forget the context of this, just remember it happening) was the most unbearble thing ever.

I get abit annoyed by american accents in fantasy games (sorry!). The accent is 300 years old, or even younger. I never feel it fits with a story set in medieval times. its not a gamebreaker for me, though.

I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be.

I don't mind them, though I do hope they find some more similar to Leliana's

Didn't Stroud have a french accent? And that other warden that I can't remember, the one that bites the dust in DAO at the end of the game? They were fine.

You do know the Orlesians you are complaining about are MEANT to be annoying and pompous? It's a running joke. There will be plenty of down to earth Orlesians. Remember Riordan? Remember Erlina? The de Launcets and the like are comedy characters at heart.

I hated Leliana's accent :(
I'm happy with having french accents, so long as they're done well or by native speakers. Of course, I'm a proud French-Canadian so maybe I'm biased :P

Actually, it would be even better if all Orlesians spoke like Montrealers. That would be freaking hilarious. To me, at least. And maybe only me...

PFFFFFFT, Quebecers don't speak real French. Actual French people spit on your backwoods patois:lol:

Sorry to tease you, but I'm required as an Albertan to be needlessly antagonistic to easterners.
