Hope this video is not too late.   I just uploaded these clips from some games I played with Invanderone and some of his friends.   They tried to let me get some one-on-one vs Atlases on Gold.

I used the same build as the video in the OP ( the build specifics are in the front of the video )

Typhoon X, Stability Mod, Extended Barrel
AR Rail 3, AP ammo 3, Assault Rifle Gear, CM3 for armor bonus
Devasator Mode speced for Accuracy, rate-of-fire, damage
Passives speced for damage.

I hipfired the Typhoon at all targets - that helped a lot with the control

Analysis of attempts

(1) teammate rocketed the Atlas because it was an objective wave
(2) I missed some shots on this attempt, but it had 6 bars of armor left after my 134 round clip was done.
(3) I don't think I missed any shots on this one, but it still had 6 bars of armor left after my clip
(4) I shot this one from the rear and I did not miss many shots, 6 bars of armor left after the clip
(5) I missed some shots at the beginning, but it killed me when my clip ran out - I think it had 5 bars left
(6) took this one down with 129 rounds ( 5 left ), but it only had 2 bars of shields left when I started.
(7) team was shooting at it also, and biotic explosion killed it.
(8) one-shotted two atlases with a rocket launcher, phantom also.
(9) End of wave 11 finished Atlas.

I was going to test with same set-up but with Warp IV ammo, but we got Reapers on Jade.  I included some clips of trying to hit Banshees, etc.

Yeah, man...we had a hell of a time trying to not kill Atlases long enough for you to perform your tests. I'm sitting there thinking, "KILLKILLKILL" and didn't realize you were doing this test thing at first. I'd be halfway through killing an Atlase before realizing you were trying to solo it. I'd say, "hey, there's an Atlas down there, man!" and you were all, "let me take it!"

I had to content myself with finger-f*cking Phantoms with the barrel of my Love-Harrier.

But watching the video, I finally saw who was responsible for throwing that dead Phantom at my head...that sh*t wasn't funny, Vader...

At any rate, the typhoon you were rocking did not seem capable of getting one mag kills on Atlases with that character and equipment set-up. My Piranha was doing a more reliable job, even at medium range, against Atlases.

Ok. Me and Abhijid just did two games.

The results are interesting:
Off host, his Typhoon would 1 mag atlas's, like they appeared in his first video.

ON host, his Typhoon would leave them with 2 bars armor, and he would need me to revive him.

This implies that the double hit glitch only happens off host.

He weilded his exact loadout from the first video all 4 clips he recorded.


He has said he will upload 2 killing shot videos, and one hosting (No kill) video.

Compute the mean number of bullets taken to down an Atlas with non-stop firing as well as the standard deviation and resulting 95% confidence intervals so we can make a good comparison. (That was a joke)

I KNEW I wasn't the only guy with this knowledge....

Besides, this would only be necessary for TEMPEST ATLAS takedowns, due to the prescence of the heat sync mod. (I was scewing the results, due to me counting AP ammos effect on shields, for that Tempest caluclation.)

I will replace the old video, when the new ones are uploaded.

However, we got two clips of a 1 clip atlas kill on gold.

I am wondering if the Double hit glitch is causing XP to be lost...
It would make a slight amount of sense.
They Typhoon isn't suppose to get double hits, so why would double hits give XP????

I havent seen the XP values of the new videos, so we can see if it was something from that one instance, or what....

However, You can test this loadout, off and on host with the typhoon, and see if you are getting damage inconsistancies with it as well......
IF you spec for magazine capacity in devestator mode, you should cross the 1 mag threshold with the Double hit glitch.

Our testing has shown this:
If you play host, it is fixed.

If you play off host, it is still very much possible.

PLUS you weren't getting double hits on the Centurions and they still only gave 452 or 462 in that video. (They should give 514+). 514 is what they give with a SET map AND enemy. So that is bare minimum.

We will just need to see the XP on the new video.

Because... We definately were on gold on those two games.
I Will sleep, I will trust our freind to upload the videos on his own volition (He is still playing right now.)

In the morning, you can see more 1 magging gameplay (And a sad on host failure to 1 mag.)

Mother of God not another glitch...

Projectile weapons are better when hosting (except the glorious falcon) and now we have a hitscan weapon that's better off host.

I think we have come full circle here.

Again I wish I could try this out. The damage DEFINITELY seems inconsistent though. Typhoon must be riddled with bugs. There have been times I have emptied a full clip w/ mag upgrade (200+ shots) into an Atlas and barely taken down its shields on Gold.

you should redo the tests with the PPR...should behave the same vs atlas canopy ...

I am uploading 4 videos. Unfortunately these 3 weapons are some of the UR's that I don't have at X.

First is a Gold Atlas vs PPR VI + Mods
Second is a Rev X with mods
Third is a Typhoon III with mods
Fourth is a Typhoon III with different mods

Since these were solo, I am obviously the host on all 4. I paused while I cleared and did the 3rd Wave objective, then picked up with only the Atlas left. The PPR was setup for max ammo in devestator mode, the other 3 for RoF.

I wonder if the off-host double pierce works on other weapons...

Well, the 4th video was a pretty good show of the Typhoon. By the way I noticed you weren't firing at the canopy in any of the videos, was that intentional?

Here's video no 3 playing as host this time. Couldn't one mag kill atlas with same setup:innocent:. This behaviour was consistent throughout the match we played.
