Ah got it.  You have no rebuttle and are clearly feeling embarassed so you create a strawman argument.

Nice try.  You still made an ass out of yourself.  Know what your talking about next time so your betters don't have to correct you.

Steej, ethic is universal, you have it, use it teach it or you don't.

Yes, Toyota does not get you car away, but "you" killed someone I know because you where driving outside of those boundaries...

And, the police can relocate your driver license... You know that right?

Your an idiot.  You want to argue comparative morality (see ethics), and expect people to agree with you on the internet?  Wow...  I don't even know what to say to that much fail.

Let's not even get started about your failed car analogy, which ignored the fact that speedlimits are different in different places, and that speed limits only apply (in the US) to government roads.  Not private property or tracks.

It is amazing to me that you even bothered to hit that reply button.  You had to know how dumb you would look.

EDIT: I had to hit the edit key and keep going.

Do you even understand what the word ethics means?  Obviously not.  Not really.  You practice a dozen different ethnic codes every year.  One for work, one for social arenas (like eating out), etc.  You MEANT to say morals. Morality is a personal code that tends to be fixed, unchanging and immutable, whereas ethics are something you practice that are usually other-dependent.

Are you really so naive that you think just because you believe something everyone else does too?  Do you actually think everyone shares the same moral code you do?  What an asinine belief.

Geeze the ignorance here is amazing.

For an obvious intelligent person, the ignorance seems to belong to you. Apparently you need to split hairs or twist the argument to suit your needs. Whether or not you wish to debate the terms 'morality' or 'ethics', the choice to take advantage of a well known exploit still lies with the user. Personal responsibility its called.

I'll stipulate that Bioware, as a company, is responsilble for fixing its product, however, that does not free the user to take advantage of said product's failures. You signed an agreement with them, and when you decided to cheat, you broke that agreement making any argument you may have, null and void.

Any intelligent person knows, that once you lay your 60 bucks out, all you get is a game. No where, does it state that the company is responsible for maintaining its product after you purchase it. They do work on it, so that any future products by them will be bought by their current customer base and by word of mouth by those happy customers, other people will purchase it as well.

*Yawn*

Reading comprehension is for cool kids dude.  Nowhere did I argue that cheating is right.  I would already be banned if I engaged in those behaviours.

The problem I have isn't with the players though.  The problem is with the failure of a company to patch potentially game breaking glitches for more than 6 months.  You want to argue that I'm CONDONING cheating because I'm CONDEMNING a company?

Nice try.  Any intelligent person knows to read before they type.

Reading is cool. In case you didnt realize it, I dont believe I accused you of anything. "You" was used in the general sense.Dont feel guilty now.

Then you fail at writing.  When you chose to use 'you' in the personal sense in the first parapgraph, you set a tone. By failing to use a transitory statement clarifying the transition of 'you' from a personal statement to generalized one, you made your latter post (and by extension yourself) look idiotic.

Then there is the fact you attempted, and failed pathetically, to associate my correct intepretation of your diction as an inadvertent admission of guilt.

Your pathetic.  If you want to insult me, do it like a man.  Not like a coward.  You sitting at a keyboard for goodness sakes.  Grow a spine.

waltervolpatto wrote...

Ethics, also known as moral philosophy, is a branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior.[1]

Yep, I know what I'm talking about.

Exploiting the SP with mod on the computer is equivalent to your car-track analogy, is your fun, your choice and you're alone in that. Have fun.

Exploiting the extra speed of the car in a normal residential street if wrong/outside of the boundaries of the law.

The choice to follow the law is entirely yours. What's right or wrong could be personal or it belong to the society as a whole, regardless, if you decide to infring a rule, you also should be willing to accept the responsability of your choice.... That for a videogame came in a form of a ban...

Except... You don't.  You quoted wikipedia.  Don't make me laugh.  If you are really going to be basing your argument on semantics in it's entirety, your going to need to try harder.  Regardless of the difference in your 'definition' of ethics, my point is still pertinent and correct.

You still failed to address the most salient point: comparative morality. Your personal view of morality and ethics is not the universal one, and is also not the correct one.  Because there is no basis, no foundation, upon which to assert ultimate authority.  You want to argue God?  People will laugh at you for obvious reasons.  You want argue governments?  Lol look at all the different legal systems.  You have nothing.  Your wrong.

Calling you naive is insufficient, but I don't know of a better word for it.

I made no, "car-track analogy," as you put it.  Rather I was simply refuting your poorly analogy.  The analogy you chose was poorly suited.  It was plagued with omissions and failed to be apt.  I simply pointed out some of the more egregious oversights.  Why are you bothering, and failing, to ressurect it?

Honestly, your outclassed and your wrong.  Give it up lol.

This section of the forum is not for poetry. Take that **** back to high school, son.

EDIT: Riddle that crap. Also, if anyone makes seriously failing attempts to be correct or troll, then please use correct mechanics and grammar. Do not try to seem intelligent when you cannot even proofread a two year old's paragraph.

EDIT2: Also, stop trying to insult people with names. You only make yourself seem like you severely lack intelligence for an incredibly poor choice of wording.

Look, I havent been banned or anything, because I dont ABUSE glitches, but I dont keep count of my missiles in Platinum and in the heat gameplay, if I had an "infinite missile" glitch, I doubt I would ever know, I dont go around shooting everything, but I would click like mad if covered by Banshees and Brutes. Blaming the players for running around and not knowing their Vorcha is invincible or that they have infinite missiles is just stupid in many cases. I wouldn't know. I would think I was just a good Vorcha player or lost count of my missiles. Bioware WOULD be at fault if the banned me because I would have accidentally used a glitch. THEIR glitch, not mine.

As far as the stupidity of your ignorant crap about the car companies, do YOU ride your brakes down a hill just to maintain a certain lawfully posted speed? Do YOU? If your answer is yes, then STFU because you are a liar and can't be trusted. Stop being stupid. Bioware needs to fix their glitches and quit banning everyone or they WILL eventually lose their fanbase. THAT IS A FACT.

... Mmmm....

First and foremost, I apologize in advance if my argumentation is not up to snuff for you, may be I can try to speak in my native language instead to use English...

On the next account, "exploit" can be defined as morally wrong for your definition as for mine, so I do not understand where are you trying to go with it.

We do not live in a wacuum, the single individual morality cannot be put on top of the comunity/society one: the will of one man cannot exceed the will of the whole otherwise society will not exist, that is close to dictatorship. That is why we have codes that can serve as guideline to identify where the right/wrong line lie... Even without a specific code, we all know basic things like killing someone is bad, stealing is bad, and even offending other people willingly is bad moral code, in any comunity....

Your turn...

The fact that english isn't you native language is irrelevant at this point.  You chose to espouse falsehoods, and I'm here to correct them.

I do not disagree with exploit being morally wrong personally.  But you trying to speak for everyone is laughable. You can't.  To say you would make you a liar.  Are you?

There isn't such a thing as a community morality.  There is such a thing as a communal code of ethics.  Get it straight.

As for the opinion, that killing someone is bad, etc etc.  Your wrong.  You can't make a blanket statement like that. I for one happen to believe in capitol punishment.  The fact that you don't is fine, but it doesn't make you wrong. That's morals.  The fact that your country has supports capitol punishment is ethics.  Loosely defined anyways.

My point still remains.  You are categorically incapable of making that judgement about it being right or wrong. The only absolute here is that Biofail deems any exploitation of any glitch a bannable offense.  Everything else you argue is just your opinion and conjecture.  Bad conjecture and opinions that I would abhorently oppose.

You can argue with me until your blue in the face about this.  You'll still be wrong.  Arguing semantics and comparative morality is a black hole.  No one wins.

Killing someone out of free will is wrong in almost all the society, capital punishment (that I happen to do not agree upon) is a consequence of law enforcement upon judgment. Even if I do not agree, I understand why is enforced in that way and I will respect it. Using a restrict example to prove a point does not make the rule...

It is funny that you use moral when suit you and ethics when moral fell short...

If I can use as best your example, capital punishment is use to punish some law offender, in this Bioware interpretation of the law, ban is the punishment for breaking the game code of law. I see no difference in morality.

That's the game.  You just admitted your advocating for majority opinion instead of right and wrong.  Nice try dude.

As I said before, comparative morality means your never right.  You can't base an argument off that, or you look stupid every time.  Same goes for semantics.

Stoning someone is my country is cruel and inhumane.  In other countries it still is legal.  In my country, there is no meritocracy.  You get ahead based on the color of your skin, your immigration status, if your a vet, etc.  I personally disagree with that.  Other countries do too.

The point is, it's all relative.  Your lying when you claimed otherwise.  You can keep claiming your right until your blue in the face.  It won't change the fact that your wrong.

I did not use the absolute on my sentence because I cannot exclude the minority that accept that killing is not a bad thing, if you want to use that as an excuse feel free.

"killing is bad" is not just an opinion, if that was the reality it will not be mentioned in any civil code. The matter that murder is one of the worst punished crimes prove the point.
There a instances where killins is merely accepted, like in war, or in extremes cases like self-defense, that does not imply the killing is right...

You might be right in stating that we cannot ever be absolutely right or wrong, instead the common acceppted morality in the here and now is a deciding factor in judging if an action is right within the limit of the code and the current morality.

Yes, there are places where people's get stoned. I'm sad about that, I do not agree, but I do not agree either to invade them to "enforce" a different idea of democracy as well. Ad that is just my personal opinion...

If I was clearly a troll, then you are an idiot, because your ****** is still replying. Like I said, your intelligence rivals that of a pack of wet llamas. The strawman tactic is not pertinent, because this arguement is about your stupidity. I can see your mechanics and grammar fading ever more, as you get your nerd hands all in a rage, just to respond.
