Awakenings: Order of quests
Each time I play Awakenings I seem to encounter a new glitch. The only thing that I am changing is the order that I do the quests, so -- rightly or wrongly -- I have formed the opinion that the order or sequence that the quests are completed is somehow causing these glitches.
This time through I went first to the Knotwood Hills and did all of Kal’Hirol, then went to the Blackmarsh and defeated both the Baroness and the electric Dragon, and then went to the Wending Wood and Silverite Mine. Before entering the Silverite Mine I returned to Vigil’s Keep to strip my characters of any equipment that might trigger the well-known Silverite Mine glitch.
Some new glitches I encountered were as follows:
1) Before I had even entered the Silverite Mine, Armaas, the Qunari trader, appeared at Vigil’s Keep. It was when I returned to strip gear before entering the Mine that I first saw him at the Keep, in his usual place beside Wade’s smithy. He gave his usual speech about trade being good. However, inside the Keep, Mistress Woolsey would not acknowledge Armaas’ presence until after I had completed the Silverite Mine quest. I think this may have happened because I clicked to enter the Mine, but then I changed my mind and decided to return to the Keep to strip off any glitch-causing equipment.
2) I had already found and returned to Dworkin all the bits of lyrium sand except the bit that is found in the Silverite Mine. After completing the Silverite Mine, I tried to give Dworkin the last bit of lyrium sand, but he would not accept it or acknowledge that I had it in inventory. No idea at all why that happened.
3) The Lorekeeper’s gloves and boots both triggered the equipment glitch for the Silverite Mine. Why that would happen I cannot imagine. These are pieces of equipment that are normally found in Awakenings. The only reason I can think of to explain this is that the glitch was caused by taking Anders and not Valenna into the Mine. Or maybe the Lorekeeper’s equipment is reserved for Valenna and I had Anders wearing it.
4) The critical chance number for Nathaniel jumped around without rhyme or reason. Whatever formula that is used to calculate critical chance was not being applied consistently. Sometimes his critical chance number was about 40%, which is what I imagined it should have been, and other times it was as high as 107%, and other times somewhere in between. This is all with Nathaniel at the same level, with all the same gear, bow, accessories, and buffs. The math used to calculate critical chance seemed to go wrong somewhere, but I have no clue what might have caused that.
****************
That is all I can think of right now. Maybe I will add to the list later.

1) Yes, I stumbled upon this bug once as well. I did the silverite mine quest last, so may be that has something to do with it.
2) I've noticed if I have two samples of lyrium sand in my inventory when talking to dworkin, I get only one explosive, and both lyrium sand samples are consumed. May be that's different from what you have encountered but surely the quest is somewhat buggy methinks.
3) No idea about that one. Was Anders wearing any heavy chest plate (arcane warrior)?
4) Yes, i noticed that as well in my playthroughs. One reason for this inconsistency may be because of the way aim doubles the critical chance when it's activated. That is to say, activating aim, then accuracy will give different numbers than activating accuracy then aim. But I'm not sure; will check out in my next run.

I have no idea what the problem with Dworkin is. This playthrough is the first time I have had any problem with him.
The only equipment that gave Anders the Silverite Mine glitch was the Lorekeeper's mittens and boots. I think he was wearing Tevinter mage robes, although he was set up as an AW. I usually just take that spec. just for the Shimmering Shield talent. Don't actually do much melee with the mages.
Definitely there is weirdness with the critical chance forumla. I've finished this pt now, bu,t as I approached the Nest to do the final battle with the Mother, I believe I got a crit chance number for Nate of something over 200%. I ask myself what that means, but I really have no idea. In any event the number is not stable -- changes from one check to the next.
Awakenings has its share of glitches, but I am finding that I still have a lot of fun with it. There are some very cool talents and spells to use and try out in various situations. Some pretty good Boss-level battles, too.
I usually import a character from DAO, so I have tonnes of coin to spend on gear and upgrades to the Keep. Makes it a bit more fun to have choices in gear.

I don't make a return trip to Vigil's Keep just to dump equipment prior to entering Silverite Mine. If you think that something will cause issues, just unequip the item and bring it with you. If you have a full inventory when reclaiming your items from the chest in the mines, you can sell excess inventory to Armass, who is right there.
I always do Last of the Legion, Righteous Path, then Blackmarsh, and haven't had any of the mentioned issues. Those questlines are done to completion before returning to the Keep, and I complete any available quests before moving onto the next area. I just like doing the quests in this order because the game seems to flow better, specifically with upgrading the keep.
I also encounter the bug with "Bombs Away!". After giving Dworkin 3 units of lyrium sand, the quest completes, when it should take 4. I just leave either the one in the Silverite Mines or the Keep basement so Dworkin doesn't permanently have a ! over his head, after the quest is listed as completed.
Awakening was obviously rushed. While I have fun with it, the expansion can also be frustrating at times.
