What would you imagine Tevinter Soldiers to look like?.

aren't impressive. I imagine Tevinter soldiers would have a sort of Byzantine look.

I would imagine something very formal. Although, most guards and soldiers have two types of uniforms, one for use in the field and one for strutting around at ceremonies.
The French and Italian uniforms look equally as silly and would be perfect for Tevinter imo

I had a picture of medieval armor from the Byzantium period, but then realized that medieval armor look alike in practically all of Europe . Good luck Bioware team in creating iconic Tevinter armor.

Their constant use blood magic, slavery, ancient magister useing lyrium to the extent it caused major deformities, and dark as abysspast paint such a bad picture that looking monsterous would suit them I guess.BrotherWarth wrote...

Death Eaters are just wizards in black robes with masks on. I only recall the one Death Eater being monstrous and he was a lycan and a child molester iirc.

Well, it’s a well-established fantasy cliché these days. I just discovered this is even an entry on the TV tropes site ( tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TooManyBelts ): ‘Too Many Belts’.
A couple of nice belts and buckles look impressive. What could be more impressive than a couple of nice, but still utilitarian belts? Lots of useless belts and buckles everywhere!

Two belts! (one for the gladius, one for the pugio) Looks cool!

Several belts and straps for Mad Max’s different sidearms. Looks cool!

A gazillion belts! Wow, this dude must be so cool, any more belts and the air around him will freeze!
Okay, back to topic…

I imagine that color to be dark green for some reason?

For some reason, this 3E guy always reminded me of Dali's Burning Giraffe.

Hah, not just fantasy. CLAMP, a female manga group, has a belt fetish as well.Das Tentakel wrote...

Well the TV tropes article did make a link between Japan and the ‘too many belts’ syndrome, so I am not surprised.
I did take a look at the ‘Tevinter’ related pictures in the comics (previews etc) and I am not very optimistic. I do fervently hope BioWare will sweep that off the table in favour of something better.
Having said that, I like something of a late medieval / early modern Eastern European / Ottoman look, but carefully mixed and matched with other elements and above all a bit of imaginative flair. Oh, and competently executed of course, but that goes without saying.

seems to be inspired by the Polish-Lithuanian winged hussars. Perhaps with stylized dragon’s wings?
By way of comparison:

And some other Polish-Lithianian, ‘Sarmatian’ style armour:

And since I always had the impression Tevinter’s ruling elite were at some level freakin’ insane, I also wouldn’t mind helmets like these:

Or these:

(looks like a bad translation from the French original, by the way…)
A combination of Polish-Lithuanian ‘Sarmatian’ helmets with helmet masks would be nice as well:

Not holding my breath, though

We already met some in Dragon Age: Origins. They wear Studded leather armor, studded helmet and are equipped with Daw Swords and Round Wooden Sheilds with the Imperium Logo.

That's just standard stuff, probably used because they couldn't afford making separate models for it.
I wouldn't count on these as examples of 'canon' Tevinter soldiers' armour.

I also imagine them having some sort of Byzantine look. Maybe even mixed up a little with some Ottoman. I think the higher ranked soldiers would have some nifty and elaborate uniforms, but they still wouldn't come close to the Orlesians.
This looks like more Sassinad Empire of the early medival period. Dragon Age already has the late medival armor being used in Fereldan, Orlais and the Qunari. Are the Teventierium so confident in their mage skills that they wouldn't adopt the more advance armor?

None of that is Sassanid, though the top mounted archer does wear lamellar armour which was known in Sassanid times. The second figure has a western European style 12th century helmet, the bottom figure seems to represent a Janissary of some sort (though with a masked helmet?)?
As for plate armour, I think we have to abandon all hope of a somewhat sensible approach when it comes to armour design on BioWare's part.
That way lies madness and despair, I am afraid
(though we still can hope for a nice surprise, of course)

I think you're right. It'll be spikey, red & black plate armor.

Hmmm, and I suspect oversized (spikey) shoulderplates
