Liara, because of character development. From a naive, smart, compassionate scientist to a paragade, cool, sexy but still caring and loyal, thoughful and open to her friends and Shepard. :)
And Ali Hillis + Jennifer Hale's voice
Dat eyes too.

In ME2, Miranda because she's hot and my Shep wanted to get laid.
In ME3, Kaidan because he's my favourite character and my Shep trusts he will always watch his back (pun intended).

So you broke up with Miranda ?

Well, I played ME1 and ME2 a lot. Like, a lot a lot. DudeShep has had every possible female love interest, and FemShep went for Kaidan and Thane (and I haven't beaten my FemShep in ME3, though I think she'll switch teams and romance Traynor).

My "one true pairing" as it were would be Ashley for a Spacer Shepard. She's an equal for him, a friend, a loyal soldier and a strong fighter. I loved her humor, passion and honesty, plus her light sensitive side. The sort of character I'd want to know in real life, so seeing her happy with a heroic DudeShep just seems right to me.

Miranda. Really like the passionate, intelligent, beautiful, skilled operative presented in ME2.

He had me at "calibrations".

In all seriousness, I chose him because he was the only character I could actually picture my FemShep with, and I wasn't disappointed. At all.

Plus, he himself has a great character arc and has strangely haunting eyes.

I have a MShep with Miranda and one with Ashley. I just like their characters.

For my two FSheps, both are with Sam, though I have a third that I may bring through the trilogy that I would pair with Garrus.

Because Miranda closely resembles the woman in the art films I love so much.

The ones who are trying to connect but can't and struggle everyday with it.

And sometimes they make it out okay or ever better than before.

two things:
1. Ashley is the only character strong enough to stand up to shepard and tell him when he's wrong. Every other character eventually falls in line at some point.
2. Much like the Doctor and the TARDIS, he didn't choose her, she chose him.

I chose Miranda because not only is she very attractive, but she's also genuinely interesting. Her romance also feels like one of the few (that I've seen, anyway) where it feels like Shepard is entering somebody else's life and making it legitimately better.

Samara, because she's strong, tough, independent, don't bend to Shep's will. She's a warrior, and probably the most powerful of any of the squadmates, She'd have no problem kicking any of the other squadies @sses, Wrex would put up the toughest fight. But yeah, she kicks @sss.

On top of that her eyes, her big blue eyes, and her glowing boitics, give her an angelic like vibe. Her eyes are the best eyes in the game, them big blue eyes, they melt me.

There is so much to her that she keeps stuffed down, hidden below the surface, and she's a complex character. My Shep (and myself) want to find a way to get past her walls, she walls herself up and it's like come here let me love you before you break. You can only be a strong warrior bad@ss, kicking@ss alone for so long before it takes it's toil on you and breaks you. Which happens in ME3, she breaks, and that makes my Shep be like "NOO, If I loose you I'm gonna just hand myself over to Harbinger. Now stop being so stubborn and let me be there for ya. I need you by my side because I can't make it on my own."

She's Samara, I can go on and on why I chose her and continue to carry on and on, but I won't.

Played with Male Shepard:

I chose Miranda a few times. Miranda was an interesting romance character. For someone so sure of herself, she's blindsided and "human" when it comes to romance. It was both odd and interesting to see her "unsure" of something. Her role in saving her sister from her father in ME3 was something I liked. She showed a variety of emotions and feelings of uncertainty instead of the hard woman who showed signs of arrogance at times ("I'm never wrong Jacob").

I chose Steve for my final playthrough because I felt that he encompassed the atmosphere of ME3, as well as created a nice balance for Shepard's character. From the moment I met Steve I knew right away that he lost someone, BEFORE he told me. His character embodied the atmosphere about the game; hard decisions, sacrifice, loss. But unlike Shepard, he showed his feelings of sadness and grief more openly. I chose him for Shepard because in tandem, I felt that they created a well balanced union. Shepard in my opinion, as a high ranking officer with a huge responsibility was made to be "tough", who often shows his softer side to his closer team-mates (Tali on Rannoch) but not his subordinates and some of his allies. I felt that with his rank, he is forced to be positive and supportive to the public eye("We can do this, we will not fail"); this becomes more apparent if you use Renegade options. With the responsibility of saving Earth, Shepard didn't have the time to simply sit and wait and mourn for things he lost. He admits his sadness to his friends about seeing Earth in such chaos, but his primary goal requires that he move on and continue his quest in order to save his homeworld. Together with Steve, I felt that they in each other, found the other half, or an outlet you might say. A characteristic that one has, but the other doesn't.

Liara

Because she's mature, looks sexy and has nice eyes.
If only Kasumi or some other Asari like Shiala was a LI and a Squadmate.

What?

That Shep died in the SM.

Exactly, that and another m!shep playthrough, were the only ones I had incomplete in ME2 after I saw the OC endings, so I killed them for their own sake (and because I didn't feel like doing anything else there) and I don't feel like replaying the whole ME2 game again to import them...

I know... I didn't think  she thought of my Shepad as more than a fling until she started crying when he broke up with her.
I felt so bad I almost reloaded the playthrough, but since I didn't want to cheat on her, I resisted the temptation and went running to the hospital to give Kaidan his present. Lol:devil:

I chose Jack first on my blind playthrough because she was the most interesting to me, to see her try and drive me away with all the things she had done in the past to finally admitting there was something there was brilliant. Right up to the point where the Collectors blew her up on the ship... Really should have bought those shields...

I then went with Tali as a consolation and have had no other LIs since because Tali is brilliant. Her dialogue is great and there are so many cute scenes.
