Liara. Awkwardly cute, but compassionate and honest in ME...didn't make it needlessly complicated to get to know her. A real life counterpart, I imagine, would be very approachable. Her character development was awesome to watch, as well, growing more confident as the story continued. By the end of the story, there was something very seductive about her.
All this aside, however, it was her loyalty that made the decision a no-brainer. She loved Shepard through the whole thing even if Shep didn't see her the same way.
But on the other hand, would have gone for Kasumi, had the option presented itself. She just seemed like fun.
why did you chose him/her?

Yeah, same for me.

Ash fits perfect with my Shepard, and has the most in common.
Yep...
That and my EB!Shepard finds Liara's open friendliness too suspucious and her interest in him, unnerving.

Also the character who is the closest to my Shepard when it comes to personality and morality. Best friend in the first 1.5 games, true love and soul mate in the rest.

I chose Kaidan. I think he has a nice dynamic with my FemShep. And I like that the romance goes across all three games. He seems like a nice stable counter balance to all the crazy things in Shepards life.

For my FemShep, Garrus because he is literally everything she could ever want or need in a partner. Steady, passionate, badass, caring, and oh-so-adorkable.
My ManShep is still a bit up in the air. I originally had Ash, then Miranda plotted out for him, but upon replay, I'm not so sure. Liara may be ninja-ing in there--she's just so darn cute.

Since I can't romance Kaidan, I chose to romance Liara.
In ME2, I don't care for any of the romance, so I remain faithful to Liara while flirting with Kelly, so she would feed my damn fish.
In ME3, I romance Kaidan.

it started with me1, my options were a ****, a wuss, and a geek (femshep player). my chivalristic side always saves the girl so the **** lived. so i went with the geek and havent looke back since...except mshep with tali. so liara and tali are my two main girls
edit: femshep x liara being my canon playthrough

Garrus, because his hilariously awkward romance dialogue meant I just couldn't resist find out what he'd say next!

ME2 was Miranda, because, well, why wouldn't you.....
ME3 was Traynor, by accident (didn't think it would lock me in!), but never regretted it. Great character with a great VA.

Well, I've played multiple times, so the answers are different each time.
Playthrough 1:
ME2=Jack...because she's not Miranda.
ME3=Ashley...because Jack's treatment in ME3 is lame.
Playthrough 2:
ME2=Liara...because she's not Miranda.
ME3=Liara...because she has a good heart.
next time, it'll be Tali...because she's sweet and, most importanly, she's not Miranda. And dat bum bum, of course.
So about Miranda...
After about the 4th conversation where that self-absorbed b**** whined about her daddy making her perfect, I knew that no amount of skin-tight booty shots would ever make that relationship work.
Of course, I also had flings with Kelly and Diana because...well, because I could.

Ashley during my first playthroughs of Mass Effect 2 and 3 cuz I always thought she was HOT! Lol
Tali in my second playthroughs cuz her personality got to me in ME2. I was like awww!! I gotta have her
Now its Liara and its gonna stay like this because I love her voice, she really attracted me in 3, she does the most for Shepard (like finding his body), shes beautiful, and she seems to be the most canon romance than anyone else.
Plus I wanna see the little blue children!!!

Ashley
I romanced her in ME1...and her romance story arc in ME3 is perfect for doing so.
Romanced Miranda in ME2. The conversation with Ashley on Horizon, and how bad it went, was perfect for setting up another romance with someone else in ME2.
Then, for story purpose...seeing Ashley almost die on Mars in ME3 made all those "feelings" come back.

Mass Effect:
William Shepard - Chose Liara because of how intelligent and kind she was.
Jamie Shepard - Chose Liara because Kaidan was boring and she had never been with an alien.
Mass Effect 2:
William Shepard - After seeing how Liara had changed and how she pretty much abandoned him to chase the Shadow Broker, began a relationship with Tali after seeing how strong and remarkable she was.
Jamie Shepard - Knowing Liara was just a fling, one night of fun, thought nothing of her when she hooked up with Mr. Vakarian. However, this initially purely physical attraction soon grew to actual love which was pretty weird for her honestly.
Mass Effect 3:
Both William and Jamie remained with their partners.
