Obligatory thread using DLC as springboard for:

...Obligatory "trust issues".
...Obligatory "Bioware's lies" statement.
...Obligatory derogatory comment against someone who doesn't give a crap about the three above obligatories.
It's ten bucks. What's that - an extra burger and some nuggets? Six pack of beer? Bottle of Thunderbird? Pills to dull the pain of Bioware's betrayal?
I'll buy it just to spite the "activists". Yes, I'm that petty.
This made me LOL, even though...I´m not happy with the endings...I do have trust issues...I´m not in favour of BioWare´s PR...and I´m envious of those who don´t have any problems like that.
Ten bucks is money I don´t really have to spare right now (I gotta live on sick pay atm which isn´t all that much).
BUT...I´ll buy it anyway, because so far I´ve bought all ME-DLC and I won´t stop now. Also, I don´t want what happend with DA2-DLC to happen to ME3. I want BW to release all their planned SP-DLC, even if they won´t add onto the endings. Also, the more content the better! So, Tuesday evening downloading it is.

You find out in ME3 that they're some kind of captive martyrs for a hologram Reaper A.I. child, here to save us from ourselves. Not cool.
We don´t know if he was aware of the catalyst...I don´t think the reapers are truly aware of it.

It might if I were an apologist, which I'm not. An apologist makes excuses as to why things that suck and are stupid "don't actually" suck or are stupid. I'm not doing that. I don't care that much about a game that doesn't affect my life adversely in any appreciable manner whatsoever. It's a hobby. A diversion. If people tell you they play any of the ME's for anything other than the moments and the characters they like, they're full of sh!t.
An apologist would be someone defending yet another of these pointless threads by yet another author/game expert/professional critic.
Tell you what, you save your money, and sleep better knowing you've bested the corporate monster that is EA/Bioware because your principled ten bucks will not feed Moloch's insatiable maw.
Give it to breast cancer research or something equally worthwhile. Send a real message.

yep, this is actually an interesting question I think Leviathan may answer. I'm sure he will reveal some new stuff about the Catalyst, after all his race created himmaaaze wrote...

Ten dollars are not ten "x" money in every part of the world honey. Don't worry, your badassery doesn't bother anyone, your ignorance and simplistic view, bothers me.
EDIT: Actually it doesn't bother me, it's a minor annoyance, that's why I'm responding.
Damn. I've been told.
I slink away abashed, contrite and put squarely in my place by this razor-edg'd riposte.
Oh, before I go, all ashamed and all that...
...one thing, "honey" - if ten bucks is so frigg'n steep, where did the sixty bucks come from to buy the game in the first place? Or am I again missing all the complicated socio-economic realities of those parts of the world where gaming is a pure luxury item?
Just curious.

From a job... honey.
After the half assed product I bought, 10 bucks for something that isn't going to improve anything is too much.
$60 - full game (well, Bioware's meaning of full game).
$10 - side mission.

Like I said I dont care if it bothered you or not. By your diatribe I'm guessing it did at least a little. And yes it is a principled 10 dollars. I have more than enough money to buy it 10 fold but every little bit you keep from a bad company and thats what EAware is, is a good thing. My pittance may not hurt them but if enough people feel the same it will have an effect on how they treat their customers in the future.
The funny thing here is the folks who plan on buying the DLC seem to get quite irate whenever someone posts a legit (to them) reason for not buying it. They aren"t going to convince these people to purchase it so why get angry. Personally I think its because they are afraid Mass Effect DLC may go the way of DA2 DLC from lack of support.

You're better off buying it without asking especially when some people did that with "From Ashes" withoout playing it.jokey javik wrote...
I don't have the urge to buy it I just don't which is wierd because I liked the dlc for me2 and me1 but after the ending mess and the fallout that came with it.
I think it may be a trust issue over will it be worth it. I haven't played the campaighn after my first and only play through not even for ec (I youtubed ec waste of two gigs on my hard drive) and I don't want to go through it again because of the end.
So I ask the bsn community do you think leviathan will be worth it.
Same here just like anyother peice of ME DLC.hoodaticus wrote...
I literally cannot wait to buy it.
IGN is okay and Gamespot is reliable like Machinima while Angry Joe focuses on subscribers, which is worse then the hits with Kotaku.jokey javik wrote...
I look at the eggs before I buy them from the supermarket too.
Generally I trust an angry joe review to a ign or gamespot review because he isn't getting paid to do it so it is a more unbiased opinion.
Having way too high expectations for any game will do that.Zulufoxtrot wrote...
The main problem was, based on Mass Effect 1, and 2 I was expecting Mass Effect 3 to meet a certain standard, therefore I pre-ordered believing Bioware to be up to the task of meeting the standard they had set for themselves. They weren't. Therefore I no longer trust them. I don't really like IGN or Gamestop, either I generally go with Angry Joe for the same reasons, and I might watch a few more videos that are walkthroughs for it.

Nope. The series is dead. I have my memories, and I'll continue to enjoy what it used to be, and what it could have been as imagined by people who aren't either corporate sell-outs or talentless hacks, but barring some extreme miracle where the people in charge actually manage to pull their heads out of their posteriors and realize what a mess it is, and then produce a worthy fix to it (and I'm not talking about just the ending any more, but so many other problems with it as well, ie. Tali's face, lack of options, etc.), then ME is dead.
Its irnoc that you're looking for a "vastly improving effect on the story/outcome" when the DLC for ME1 and ME2 didn't do that.Hendrik.III wrote...
Not unless it has a vastly improving effect on the story/outcome, which is extremely unlikely.
At this point I think the corruption within the once creative minds at BW has spread too far. EA puppets cannot produce anything other than explosions, violence and macho-awesomeness without any proper story to back it up. The only depth you can expect is in the cleavage of the female characters.

Assuming will do you nothing especially when you have 2 levels of the Citadel and a whole planetary system to explore through. Thats only some of the known added content other then loot and a little bit of Catalyst dialogue.sheppard7 wrote...

2 hours (although I thought I'd read that it was 3-4?) isn't too terrible of a time/cost value if it has replay potential. A linear solo mission in the style of Arrival would be disapointing, but if it has different outcomes or even just different character dialogue I'd consider it worth buying.
