What would you consider to be the lowest acceptable level to have Rare and Ultra Rare weapons, in order to play Gold? In general.
For example, having a Rare at least up to V and an Ultra Rare I.
I know that some weapons are better than others, that is why I mean just in general. Though if you should feel inclined to list all the weapons individually then go right ahead. Hats off to you.
Your weight in Gold.

Estimate umm V-VII
I've played with lower.
For example anyone packing a falcon is a-ok at any level.
Because stagger.
So it could be by a gun by gun basis too.
But I'd still say V-VII is a time try yer first gold.
(URs at any level because actually getting em is annoying enough same with n7.)

Any level is acceptable for most weapons.
Player skill > Weapon level.
Player skill > Weapon level.

Pfft, don't even need rares.
Mattock > 90% of the rares out there.

But if you don't know the player's skill, though. All you have to go by is what you see, say, a random player load up with.

Its less about your weapon level, more about your consumables. A single level III amp can boost your level I weapon to X or above.
Take a Piranha I for example. at base it 61.7. A Piranha X is 77.1 damage. However a piranha I with a level 3 amp is 80.21 damage. Of course a Piranha X is much more powerful with a level 3 amp as well but being less stingy with amps will cover your weaker leveled weapons. Slap on a high level ammo mod such as AP 4 or Warp 4 and your weapon will be much more powerful than peeps with level X weapons who are saving all their mods for the year 2100

well a person can do fine with any weapon in terms of damage dealing uncommon weapons tend be good aswell, for instance: Raptor,Mattock,Phalanx,Eviscerator work just fine on gold. Hell even predator outscores carnifex.

AP ammo 4 + Shotgun amp 3 + HCB instead of shredder mod on Piranha + GI = Easy mode on Gold/Plat.

As long as they don't have a completely nonsensical loadout, I'm fine.
Unless, for example, I've played with them and I know that they somehow managed to completely spec out of proxy mine or arc nades on a GI or MQI.

There are certainly Gold-viable Uncommon weapons--never meant to imply there wasn't. I just figured having certain Uncommons at at a high level for Gold was more of a given, since they're much more easy to obtain.

To be honest here are some people in this game that can make any weapon sing regardless of level.
There's only an average of 25% difference in a weapons stats from I and X so I wouldn't cap a rare or ultra rare weapon from Gold because it isn't at V.
As far as characters, again if you are good at the game level doesn't matter (ofcourse not having Cloak, Hunter Mode and Networked AI maxed on a Gethfiltrator will hurt your overall killing efficiency and time though it certainly isn't a bad thing to take into Gold at Level 7 or whatever).

Depends on what class we're talking about. When I first started out playing gold, I mostly swapped between AA with Carnifex IV or V, and Justicar with Mattock VIII or IX.

I'd like to leave class out of it, since if included the discussion then becomes too situational. Naturally certain combinations will do better than others.
I guess for the sake of this thread pretend this random player who you are looking at the weapons of is playing a character you are unfamiliar with.

if I were to build my loadout from scratch again:
Claymore I = okay, ready for Gold!
