Is it worth it. I'd rather not support the whole taking out characters from the game thing but is Sebastian a interesting character?

His abilities are quite similar to those of Varric, and he is a pretty boring companion. His side quest is also kinda lame. He does add some cool cut-scenes  and party banter though, and the ending implies that he might have a role in future games. So his character does have...potential! If that`s worth  paying7$ for is up to you! :)

I can't imagine DAII without the Exiled Prince. Sebastian was easily one of my favorite characters.

That's just me, though - lots of people feel very differently, so I wouldn't trust anyone's word on it. :)

The writers have said that his story isn't over, though, so even if you end up hating him it may be worth it just to get acquainted with his character and backstory so you don't feel like you've missed out on something later!

One nice aspect to the DLC is that expands the scope of the greater DA2 storyline, fitting it in with what's happening "elsewhere." Although, granted that part is short. I also particularly enjoyed Seb as a character and loved how his banters brought an extra dimension to some of the other companions, like Fenris. But, some folks hate him, so ymmv.

I personally like the Seb character.

With that said I would like to see him or at least his storyline return in DA. Not neccissarely in the game itself, could also be in a DLC so that the story could revolve completely around the raise or fall in power of Seb in his hometown. In DA2 some interesting things were pointed on that I would like to see wrapped up. I miss the political issues being more worked out in the game. This storyline could be a great way to do something about that.

Sigh I keep repeating this: but there's also a nice shield and a Knife you get in Exhiled prince and you get to meet Leliana. You also get more of the chantry side of things.

I think the DLC is worth it. Not only because of Sebastian, but also because of Elthina. What is special about it, is that the team working on it had more time to flesh them out. Much like DA:O characters you can talk to her after certain developments in the game, without the need to be invited. The DLC adds more to that. Although she doesn't act, she at least has become a more believable character. If other characters would have had the same treatment then DA2 might have been much better. But that's just my opinion.

Hm... I wouldn't say "interesting" no. For me an interesting character is complex or changes over time, I don't think this applies to him. I don't get the same feeling with Sebastian as I get with any of the four romance characters, who all change in their own way. That said, I do like Sebastian and think the content in his DLC is fun.

Its worth it. For both Sebastian and Elthina, as AFW mentions.

But you absolutely want to bring Isabela along on the mission Sebastian gives you when he joins your party in Act 2. The dialogue is priceless. Trust me on this.

Interacting with Elthina definitely informed my opinions and decisions at the end.  She really felt like she should be "base game" material.

As to whether Sebastian's interesting...he's definitely not a favorite like Varric.  He's my husband's favorite character while I only like him for some ambient banters.

I agree.  I liked Sebastian and his story.  I also enjoyed all of the DLC.

There are some priceless scenes with Varric and Hawke, you meet Leliana, there is incredibly funny banter.. I don't like Sebastian much, he gets on my nerves but it is worth buying for the added content.

I agree, Exiled Prince is a good DLC to have. It gives more insight into the Chantry's stance on magic. (his comments during the chantry destruction at the end are the most rational of the group's) You get the Leliana cameo, as others mentioned. And I found him to be a good spokesman for the Chantry's views in general, not just "Grr, argh, mages bad" like Fenris.

Sebastian is a good character, but you have to look past his religion to realise that there's more to him than just the "Choir Boy" cliché that he's been labelled with, which is something a lot of people struggle with. He happens to be one of the most rational companions in DA2, which might be why i like him.

At the very least - It's worth getting so you can see the Chantry's side of things presented in a reasonable manner, cause Act 3 opens your eyes up a lot more to the things going down outside the city.

Mechanically speaking, I find Sebastian to be a more useful late-game archer than Varric. He has a bit more durability, he can de-buff enemies with Wounding Arrow and his Guardian Angel talent can tie up bothersome mooks.

Ok character, but I felt he arrived abit too late (chapter 2 or something?). By that time all the seats were taken in my party.

The dlc has some interesting conversations but the Prince character is a dead wooden boring character for me.

Sebastian is pretty good and his quests do add more xp and story to the three acts.

The only downside being that the pack is Day 1-DLC and really should be part of the full game, but if you don't care about economic politics then go ahead and get it. I did and enjoyed it well enough.

If you might like a pro-chantry, pro-templar, religious companion, then you might like Sebastian. I just hate how he seems to think that all mages are maleficar, and goes on about "this ridiculous mage rebellion" while standing right next to my mage Hawke.

In combat, Sebastian is an archer, though he gets overshadowed by Varric who I like better and having them both in the party is a bit redundant.

Overall, I liked the dlc as it was more content and it comes with Sebastian, who adds to the game, even if I only used him during his personal quests.

Sebastian is a bland and uninteresting character to me, but his quests make the Exiled Prince a good buy.

They have a Dragon Age Origins type setting, and in his act 3 quest you get an awesome cameo. Worth the money, totally.

He is by far worst character of all (even worse then dog). You however miss on one cameo in third act, if you don't have him.

I didn't like him at all but is you're money and is best if you check yutube.

I wanted an option for hawke to kill him but.. meh you can't... in the other hand you can kill few in the group who is by far alot better character than him...

He's similar to Varric only in the fact that he's a ranged rogue. Varric's Bianca fires faster than any bow and to add to that speed he has a number of talents (one unique to him) that increase his speed. This turns Varric in the late game into a monster DPS machine gun. Properly built he also crits half of his hits and since he fires so quickly tends to make him crit at least once a second.

Sebastian on the other hand is all about damage. He has attacks which deal greater damage per hit. His unique skill tree underlines this fact. He's also the only character shy from a Shadow Rogue Hawke to get a duplicate spell which dumps his aggro into a dummy. It's helpful if he gets some sudden aggro hike because he hit an elite with Righetous Arrow or Arrow of Judgement whichever his is version of Assassinate.

Personally, I prefer Varric. His DPS and crowd control make him a useful guy to have around (he's also usually my lockpicker) but with some of the high end bows Sebastian can deal out some heavy damage from afar. And with stealth, evade, and his dupicate you can keep him out of melee combat quite well. Then have him deal massive damage to enemies especially as a finisher to Cross class Combos.

Ultimately Varric and Seb play very different roles in your team building. I hate saying one's better than an other but I really do think Varric beats him handily in use.

Now for story purposes... I didn't pay anything for him. I got him free. So I never felt like I wasted money on him. He has two fun quests (Act 2 and 3). He's got a great voice. He looks somewhat cool. And if you're playing an Andrastian dipolmatic Hawke I tend to feel he's one of your few real friends (with Aveline and Varric).

But he's not earth shakingly awesome. He isn't Shale or even Zaeed and Kasumi. He's locked out of your team in Act 1. But I like his inner struggle with his place in the world.

If you buy him... you may feel slightly gyped. But he does have things to offer. Some really dislike him but I like how he's torn between two differing duties and oaths... even if that struggle may be stretched a little too thin for the 8 years he struggles with it.

If it means anything I suspect his story isn't done and he'll have some impact in DA3.

Cool character... but you don't get so much in terms of contents. 3 quests and a short cameo of Leliana.

Do not buy it yet, the exiled prince DLC is bugged with patch 1.4, you can not play it.
There is only silence regarding an fix and i tried everything contacting EA who is very shy with customer support.
