Honestly this is an interesting video to watch as they address a lot of user questions about the Origin client and even touch on DRM, the spyware accusations, and other features.
Was kind of surprised to some questions they talked about cause you would think they would just skip some but they actually answered every question people asked only skipping duplicates.
They also state in the video that the current beta version does give users options to opt out of some data collection and allows users to choose how Origin starts up.

Yep it does. I've really had no issues whatsoever with Origin. It works fine. Certainly miles better than GFWL.
