At least two of the epilogues for Morrigan indicate or suggest that she heads over to Orlais. Anyone have any theories as to why she decided to head there? I can understand why she would want to leave Ferelden but Orlais seems like an odd choice to me.

I guess that's the mystery dude. Maybe she wants to manipulate the ones in power there or take power herself. Her motives are only known to her.

About a dozen ideas have been tossed around all based on little fact. One thing to remember though is it never specifically says it's Morrigan, simply a woman fitting her description. Reality is she may have never been more then a few miles away from you.

Orlais is also where the Chantry headquarters are. That makes it even more mind-boggling.

This, Leliana may not have converted her to the Maker, but she did convert Morrigan to her other great faith, shoes

She is probably heading for a swamp far from Flemeth to call home. She went to Orlais first since... if you don't go by boat you can't leave Ferelden without going there. Maybe she went to The Donarks later?

Depending on the ending...aren't there lots of Grey Wardens in Orlais? Maybe she's looking for another way to have her old-god baby if you turned her down at Redcliffe. I wouldn't put it past her to somehow try to spark a Blight in order to get that...

Nobody can "spark" a Blight other than the darkspawn themselves.

Well, you could give the darkspawn the location of the next Old God, but it's not as if it's written on a convenient piece of paper...

By the way, they are running out of Old Gods... what will happen when the last one croaks?

That would make sense: Morrigan continues a neverending quest for power, while still trying to execute "the plan."
