So last night I was with 2 friends and we decided to set it to my hated FBWGG settings so it wouldn't take 3 years for a pug to join us. We went there, and the first thing a pug player will always do is run to the camping spot. First thing we all say is "If you die down there, nobody is coming to save you". They came running back but tried to convince us to stay down there when we pushed our way down into that room (not the back of it, except for once when we got stuck in there with some primes) and cleared the wave.

First thing they do is show displeasure that it isn't easy. They brought a scorpion as a weapon.
The match was hard (geth suck to begin with), and they died about 15 times (we all died like ~7 so it was still a pretty bad match), but they seemed to complain every single wave (though it was partially inaudible).

I'm curious... Do FBWGG players tend to suck like this? Every time i get thrown in one the match goes to hell if they get overrun. How is it fun playing with a bunch of people who suck and don't belong on the difficulty?

We got a full extraction*

FBWGG is not representative of normal Gold gameplay. (Means yes).

There's a reason I'll never lobby up in a FBW/G/G game, and really, it's neither the map nor the enemy...

Why do you think they're doing it in the first place? They want the credits but can't handle the difficulty.

1)The scorpion is an awesome weapon if used right

2)Yes people who only play that map will most likely suck as tehy haven't elanred any awreness, aim, dodging/strafing, and other skills needed to actually win

3) the game gives prioirty to game sin progress. 3 people is more then enough to beat a gold. You should ahve picked whatever level/enemy you wanted and started and if someone came in good, if not you could still beat it with 3 people

I usually leave FBW-Geth matches for once they go out of that room.. The fhit hits the san.. Even then, I'd rather fail soloing gold then do a FBWGG match, myself.

I can hot-foot it to "that" spot with my Fury + Arc Pistol (if I don't get kicked O.o), finish with 100K+ points, via teleporting in and out as needs be, without being a PUG.

Don't assume everyone that heads for that corner is a noobstick.

Just assume that 99% of people that do, are indeed as you suspected xD

Let me get this straight- there were THREE of you already and you needed a random? Why??? Just for gold?

Randoms running to the counter remind me a Pavlov's dog. Even if it's Cerberus or Reapers they run there on Noveria. They're all bronze or silver players and play only to farm credits. Something goes wrong and wipe is imminent.

yes. Yes they do.
I think I set a record with the pugs once. FBW/G/P and we got waved failed 15 ish seconds into wave 1.

and i'm starting to feel that the only ones who are left are farmers...

I did't know that you could farm cerberus too at Glacier... all of them running to that tiny room... i mean There is something more boring than that? Go play Tetris!

Couple of points, 1st of all good for you for telling them it was not a camping game.
Second were you totally sure they joined expecting to be in a gold game? I've had more bronze/silver games toss me into gold and plat lately.
Third, you sort of got what you asked for by playing that map, set up and opening it up expecting to get a good player.

Dude, seriously, there's an easy way to make geth fun to fight. Just whip out your Kroguard with a Reegar and melee ALL the things.

I always play a U/U/G. This time I just felt like seeing if farmers belong on gold. I found out they still don't. I originally wanted to have 2 farmers try to hold down there (and end up dying) but my friend ninja'd in.

Btw this is what I was getting at. No need for you to get desperatre and choose FBWGG just to get a random. Just pick the map you want and start the friggin' thing

There are people out there that can solo Gold/Plat so surely three guys can at least get a match going and then let the game add another player.

AKA People that don't know how to play Glacier.

If you're camping in a tiny room in Glacier you're doing it wrong.

From my perspective:  I can farm Gold or Platinum just fine with friends and they know I am not the one to play Infiltrator.  I'm just not that good running around in Gold or Platinum.  I try my best to use cover and all but I don't have the gaming skills to do well in a G/P PUG format.  I have played Gold successfully with people willing to coach or lead.  Of course I am willing to follow their lead.

I don't PUG farm to save myself consumables and frustration.  And I don't PUG Gold or Platinum to spare myself verbal abuse from people inclined to that sort of thing.

Also I let people in the lobby know the plan.  After all, MP is a co-op game and team synergy is a great thing.

Why are you intentionally trying to ruin a player's day? That's not very nice.

I don't think it's FBWGG's fault. I run FBWGG's because I don't want to wait 90 minutes to start a match and I tend to play late at night since that's when I'm most active. But I am a good fighter and can usually hold my own unless I get a **** for brains team. I take pride in trying out new weapons, characters, strategies because I enjoy learning new things.

FBWGG is not indicative of a player's skill. Each player has a natural affinity for the game which can grow or diminish based on a variety of factors. There are logical reasons for doing FBWGG matches the most obvious is to make money quickly but if you run one it doesn't make you a bad player automatically, perhaps a bored one yes.

We could have just let him run down there and bleed out all the time. It's not our fault he didn't want to play as a team. (he eventually did)

You don't have to sit behind the counter. I've done U/U/G with 2 friends and a random we get the stupid FBWG setup and the random runs to the counter. the 3 of us run and around and rambo. someitmes they get the hint and try to run around. sometimes they just sit there. either way tis fine by me, i'm just over that map

The problem with players who farm exclusively is that they can't adapt when the match goes off script.
