Maybe I was playing with Sydeth... Who was I playing with... Verdantly? Jagpferd?

Probably. I just popped around for the lashtastic match.

That's the weird thing. With Geth and Kroguards, not only would it be easier to finish than if you camped in that room, it'd be far faster. I did it around 16ish minutes with just 1 friend before and we were messing around. A full team actually trying to do it would wipe the floor with them.

Yeah, well, we were using Kroguards/Reegar. Talk about an OP build against Geth.

Revenge for all those stunlocks and cheapass game mechanics!!

Playing the game normally instead of camping is griefing now? :pinched:

How is telling a player that runs off alone that he won't be revived considered griefing?

Hah, silly you, thinking gold farmers can actually play gold.

So last night I was with 2 friends and we decided to set it to my hated FBWGG settings so it wouldn't take 3 years for a pug to join us. We went there, and the first thing a pug player will always do is run to the camping spot. First thing we all say is "If you die down there, nobody is coming to save you".
First they do is show displeasure that it isn't easy. They brought a scorpion as a weapon.
The match was hard (geth suck to begin with), and they died about 15 times (we all died like ~7 so it was still a pretty bad match), but they seemed to complain every single wave (though it was partially inaudible).

I'm curious... Do FBWGG players tend to suck like this? Every time i get thrown in one the match goes to hell if they get overrun. How is it fun playing with a bunch of people who suck and don't belong on the difficulty?

1)The scorpion is an awesome weapon if used right

2)Yes people who only play that map will most likely suck as tehy haven't elanred any awreness, aim, dodging/strafing, and other skills needed to actually win

3) the game gives prioirty to game sin progress. 3 people is more then enough to beat a gold. You should ahve picked whatever level/enemy you wanted and started and if someone came in good, if not you could still beat it with 3 people

^this, why would you want to ruin someone else's game?

What is the problem? Why not just shut up and play the game? If people wish to "farm" specific maps, then let them, if it is easier, then why not? Maybe the people who discovered the spot on Firebase White are the smart ones, I see it as a tactic, hold up and let them come to you, does it impact you and your precious solo runs or your prefered way to play? I can't say that it does, just play the game how you want to, and leave others be.

I usually leave FBW-Geth matches for once they go out of that room.. The fhit hits the san.. Even then, I'd rather fail soloing gold then do a FBWGG match, myself.

You don't have to sit behind the counter. I've done U/U/G with 2 friends and a random we get the stupid FBWG setup and the random runs to the counter. the 3 of us run and around and rambo. someitmes they get the hint and try to run around. sometimes they just sit there. either way tis fine by me, i'm just over that map

I've had FBWGG come up when trying to do random golds twice in the last week or so with a friend of mine and two randoms.  The first time my buddy and I were like "screw it, I really don't want to sit behind the counter" and we tried to stick together and move around the map, but the other guys were just lost.  They didn't stick to the counter, but they didn't really stick together either.  We ended up failing the mission.  It reminded me of the sentiment that's been discussed about BioWare "balancing" the Geth for farmers instead of "normal" play.

The next time FBWGG came up we both said "screw it, I really don't want to wipe again..." and stuck mostly to the room, a little ashamed to have caved in.

I can't fault anyone for using the optimal strategy on a given map; it just sucks that for FBWGG the optimal strategy is so easy/boring.

I like Firebase Giant, London, and Rio for Gold, in that order. Yeah, London is hard but not impossible. It does weed out the farmers but they are welcome to join. General rule is if you die on the other side of the map, you better have a medigel if a Shadow isn't on the team. I've seen the craziest of weapons/character combos but usually the people seem to know what they are doing. I guess I don't have as bad experience with Gold as others do, but I do avoid White and Glacier, maybe that's why.

Would a FBWGG farmer run out to revive somebody who was fighting alone at the spawn point? Realistically, no. Why, then, should three people playing FBWGG normally be expected to revive somebody fighting alone at the camp point?

"Leave others be" goes both ways, and non-farmers should be free to play the way they want on any map, including FBW. I don't agree with telling him that he would definitely not get revived if he camped there alone, but players who die far from the rest of the team usually aren't received well in any situation.

If somebody wants to sit in a corner for 20 minutes, I'm fine with that. Sounds pretty dull to me, but if the game mechanics allow it, what's the hurt.

I'll be playing as a team with the other two, while "billy no mates" (english saying) plays with himself.

I just love how you intentionally force harder pawn spots for enemies and then whine about the match not going as well as you would have liked, while blaming it on the one player who would have gone for simpler pawns.

Billy no mates plays with himself?

Wow, sounds like a real problem to me.  If he isn't shooting straight, I wonder if he's got his hands on the right trigger.
