I logged onto Origin today and attempted to acquire the Earth DLC. I clicked "Buy Now" and it indicated that it had started downloading. However, I got some kind of error message (and unfortunately, I didn't write it down, so I don't remember what it was), and I never saw any progress bar indicating that it was actually downloading. However, when I looked back at where I could download it, it said "You Own This", and didn't give an option to "re-download". So I assumed it must have installed already. I got into the game and went to multiplayer, but I didn't see any new maps or characters, and as far as I could tell, the dlc had not been downloaded. I went back to the "add-ons" section on Origin, and it still says that I own the Earth DLC, and doesn't give me the option to try and download it again.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
The same thing happened when I tried to get "Extended Cut" dlc. It said it downloaded without actually doing so, and I had to reinstall the game and Origin a million times before I finally got it to work. I REALLY don't want to have to go through all of that again, as it took me about two days to get it to work last time.
I really don't understand why Bioware has to set the DLC's up like this. With Mass Effect 2, all I had to do was download the file directly from Bioware's website and manually install it. It always ran smoothly, and I never encountered any problems with getting DLC's for ME2. I don't get why Bioware can't just have it be the same way for ME3. So far, everything that could have gone wrong with this game HAS gone wrong, and it's been incredibly frustrating having to find ways to work around all of these errors I keep encountering with DLC's.
Seriously Bioware, why can't you just set it up to be downloaded and installed manually?
Anyway, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out how to download the DLC, or to fix it so that Origin doesn't think that I've downloaded it when I obviously haven't.

Ugh, nevermind. I re-logged into Origin, and the downloaded automatically started. As far as I can tell, everything's working now. Sorry for wasting thread space.
Still, I wish we had the option to manually download and install addons, at least for the free ones.

You do have the option to manually download and install addons. It's under the game's Details. It will show a list of all available addons and the ones you have yet to download. Or you can use the "Shop for addons" button.

I meant as in right-clicking on an uploaded file, "Save File As", download it to a folder of your choice, and open the file manually on your computer to install it, as opposed to having to rely on Origin automatically installing it for you an all that.
