The idea would work under one condition.

No power allowed.

Then it's no longer mass effect.

This game isn't designed for PvP, wouldn't work, it's fine as co-op, but PvP would be unfair in many respects.

Well, here can be one big mode.

A mix of co-op, capture the flag, and destroy enemy base.

Basically, it's 6vs6 PvP with bots. Huge map, on one side "Red" team, on other "Green" (or whatever colors you want, it can be customizable in the lobby). Objective is simple - with the help of bots, overcome enemy, and capture/destroy his base.

On map should be a lot of flags that you must capture (stand near it, some flags require no less than "X" man to capture, so enemy can block capture easily by killing 1 of necessary 3 players near flag), the more flags your team will have, more bots will help you. Some flags can have certain bonuses, like +50% health for bots, or +10% damage for players.

You also can't rush into enemy base right away, becuase you first must shut down defences to enter the base. Through, on some maps it should be possible.

For every kill, you recieve money, that you can spend on upgrades in HQ.

HMG spots, and vehicles inluded.

So what about Biotic Charge, Tactical Cloak, shotguns, Bio'splosions, grenades,  Harrier, Scorpion, Falcon, Hurricane, Stasis, Overload, Energy Drain and Lash (aswell as all other abilites with incapacitation effects)?

What about them? They are here. Through some abilities could work differently on players, than bots. (i.e. no auto-aim)

They'd be retardedly overpowered and impossible to balance. Getting ragdolled off the map by Lash or Grenade spammed to death or Stasised (rendering you useless) wouldn't be fun. You can't just say "what about them?" they are a legitimate flaw in the mechanics of a possible PvP

Here was enemy's with biotics in ME1. ;)

And btw, that how should they work in such MP as well - powerfull, but with almost a 40sec cooldown.

PvP - just no. Being able to destroy digital bad guys with your friends is more interesting to me than playing vs humans. ME3 MP is the only MP I have ever played, and then non PvP is one of the reasons I even played this one. So, its a NO for me.

It is literally impossible to make a balanced ME3 multiplayer mode. Not in any way. To do so would be to literally rip apart what Mass Effect is, just to get something even feasible as a multiplayer game. Biotics and tech would HAVE to be removed, there's not way that throw, pull, stasis, and many others could possibly be done properly. Weapon-based classes would be overpowered, infiltrators would be near-impossible to find or kill, as they would insta-kill you before you even readied your power. Everything that makes Mass Effect what it is, would have to go, all that would be left is just some shooter game with little going for it.

Here was enemy's with biotics in ME1. ;)

And btw, that how should they work in such MP as well - powerfull, but with almost a 40sec cooldown.


1) The enemies in ME1 were AI controlled, there is a reason why ATLASes have 37000 total health in multiplayer on Platinum....
2) There biotics were limited, there was nothing truly overpowered, the enemy never had Arc Grenades.
3) There was a counter to powers in ME1 known as Damping which disrupted enemy powers.

We are human controlled, have access to 24 times to power pool and have no counter to powers.

Also the forty second cooldown thing is rediculous. You'd be using them so little they would be pointless, it would become a gun game, and I don't want ME3 to become Call of Duty. Also what about powers with no cooldown like Devastator Mode, Bloodlust and Hunter Mode (the three most powerful)? What would happen to them? And what about grenades? One Arc Nade + One Sticky Nade would easily be enough to decimate an entire spawn of players. Hell I think one Arc Nade would be.

Oh yeah and you still never gave an answer to the gun problem. Shotguns are clearly the most powerful thing in this game The Claymore is single-handedly enough to one shot all non-dodge PCs [exception of Destroyer). The Piranha, Harrier, Talon, Scorpion, Falcon, GPS and Striker would overwhelm players easily.

Also having more than four players would potentially overwhelm the engines. You've seen how jumpy and close to crashing it gets just through the game as is.

I also don't want to actually give players a reason to make nerf and buff threads, nor do I want to draw in any more elitists who take N7 rank as a measure of skill and complain of killstealing in PvE.

PvP just doesn't work in Mass Effect. It isn't Mass Effect and never will be.

1) So what? Shepard still were defensless ragdoll puppet.
2) Nothing will be overpowered, if i'm in charge of project :)
3) Could be returned. After all I suggest new game for 50$, not just another free DLC for current MP.


So what can i say... you have bad understanding of my concept. Everything you said including spawn-killing will not be a problem in my game. Here will be no N7 rank either.
