if 3 people elect to kick you out... then sorry; there's a problem. I usually just start a Gold Match at level 1 and have everyone jump in with out a choice! >XD> ...and N7 simply means the person has played a certain duration. *NORMALLY* if a player has a high N7 rating then they have plenty of experience and should have learned how to play... sometimes though, they will stick suck major grapefruit.:alien:

Not listening is the tough part when you want to help. Mabye they get confused or don't have the mods? Eh, who knows? But you tried for a bit and that's better than nothing, right?

I'm just baffled by how many seem to foget they were new once upon a time to this game. Even wonder if they would beat a baby for not speaking in full sentences, walking, taking total care of themselves, etc. Also baffled by the fact that it's supposed to be fun. If you're that elitist then find a like minded group and run with them and only them. Build it over time so it's a nice big group of tools that can hang together and leave the masses to have fun and not get kicked of stupid stuff.

Usually they just leave or tell me I'm wrong lol.   But I really don't mind.  As long as they actually try it's all good, I'm more bothered by people who think they're too cool to use medigel/rockets or help with objectives. :[

This I agree with.  I've never kicked anyone for being low N7 or bad loadouts.  We all have to learn, and if someone's in over their head they'll usually pick up on it pretty quick.

I've stopped giving advice (like mods that don't work on their guns or obviously bad load outs) on mic though because not once has someone listened.  Props to you if you do, though.

It's not being elitist. It's not being patient enough with complete strangers to explain how the game works.

So how do the newbies learn? If you' specifically are an avid game player and tune into lots of details about the game, then for you, this is all common sense and/or easy. But there is a large group of people out there that simply play a game for fun and don't realize or expect to come in and have all these specifics they need to know and then nobody tells them.

I still don't know a gazillion things about SP and MP. I only started playing ME1 in may or june due to downtime from an serious illness and needing to take my mind off it completely. Had an xbox since 2010 and only played some of final fantasy 13. But now I'm playing - late to the whole gaming thing so a lot is lost on me if it's not straight forward. Luckily I've got a mic and have come across some great people in random matches who have explained things to me. And even here, I've got some nice messages from people who send me links to different things so I can read them. Sometimes, it's overwhelming, but I take my time with it.

I guess 'not patient' suits many. Just don't kick them or be a jerk to them or randomly make posts here mocking them because I've seen all of that and really, it's like making fun of a person who is illiterate for being illiterate. Not saying that you do any of this. I'm just stating what I've seen.

This thread is amusing, and I admit that on a couple of occasions I have kicked for reasons not pertaining to weapon/equipment load out; such as a random wanting to kick one of my friends in a lobby in which case a reactionary press of my Y button is in order or I need to open a spot up to invite someone.

Cool story time: I played a game earlier where I had the audacity to be magnet grabbed by a banshee 10-15 feet away towards the start of wave 3 on Gold. The survivors wiped at the end of the wave and I was kicked because of my one stroke of bad luck even though I had otherwise done fine for the short duration of the game. Was that karma slapping me in the face? I don't know, but I did eventually get a friend invite from the host of that game after a few messages. *shrugs* Maybe I ought to reflect on how I have been living my life thus far.

I usually only get kicked when someone wants to invite a friend. Got kicked for trying to bring a turian soldier into a FBWGP match the other day.

I've only been kicked once..."Look at his N7! It's so high! He's gonna steal all the kills! Kick him, kick him!"

I'm pretty accepting of different builds...I'll give everyone a shot at least once, but if you use a bad loadout and play like crap, you're either going to change to a better loadout, or leave my lobby. Whether you prefer to or not.

One of my friends I play with is a professional Infinity Ward-sponsored CoD gamer, and ME3 is his chief "relaxation" game. He's extremely selective. I hosted a match, invited him, and we kicked 3 people before we found an acceptable third, then kicked 4 more before eventually starting the game (U/U/G) with 3. I find it easier to just go along with him than argue to give people a chance. The two of us can handle Gold together easily, so it really makes no difference to me.

But yeah, when I play with him, I kick alot. Other than that, I don't really kick anyone ever.

Must be a peasant thing. The only time I've ever seen a vote-to-kick was if someone got dumped in a Platinum lobby on accident.

This phenomenon has gotten completely out of hand and needs to be stopped.  Tonight my friend even kicked me just because I was going to bed! I mean, I'm so tired that I'm seeing double and she's gonna kick me from the damned game.  Evil, evil little minx!

What?! Who would do such a thing?! Image IPB

How dare she! Umm... I know it's a she... cuz... uh... only chicks get called a "minx"... yeah, yeah, that's it.  Image IPB

The horror. I bet you're gonna have nightmares tonight, aren't ya? Shucks. Here, let me call the wahbulance for you. I heard she was nice enough to let you buy your pack and SEE what you got in your pack before prompting the others to kick you though. So she can't be all bad, right? Hehehe.

This makes no sense at all. Why would your friend kick you for being tired? Why would your friend kick you? Why is she your friend if she kicks you? Why wouldn't you call it a night if you were so tired you were seeing double?

Because I'm *AHEM* she is EVIL. Pure and simple. So evil that she'll bring a Vorcha into a gold. Image IPB

lol, you gave me a kick vote because of my harrier.

I'm guessing that's after I tried kicking you for having the Wraith X and after I went to bed?

Oh my, 4 pages and none of them get it.  That's OK, bit of an inside joke anyway

This actually reminds me of the other night when a group of my friends were all together in one private room. We were messing around putting kick votes on each other and just being complete goobers for, like, 5 minutes. Then, with all the X switches going on, we accidentally ended up kicking one of our friends. Died laughing and sent a new invite. We then proceeded to kick each other out until everyone had to be re-invited back in at least once.

I have no idea how long this went on for, but I was crying laughing so hard by the time we finally started the next match.

That is literally the only time I have ever been kicked in this game. LOL

Sounds like some of the private groups I run with...Image IPB

The only (two) times I've been kicked, were from my own lobbies, after my wife went emotional meltdown over the amount of time I was spending playing the game, instead of waiting at her beck and call.  After having to leave the room on no notice, and my friends waiting some reasonable amount of time, they kicked me to refresh the lobby.  It was really embarrassing that one of the friends was in both instances and they were only about a week apart...Image IPB

Awww, dude, I hate hearing that. I'm the wife half of a gaming couple, so it always makes me said when spouses either can't join the fun with you or don't understand and decide to be pissy about it. Image IPB

Completely understandable. I actually had that happen once myself. I was hosting a lobby and invited my husband in, then opened the last two slots to public. Once the room was full, hubby was taking a second longer to ready up because he was grabbing a beer (which takes all of, what, 10 seconds?). One of the randoms put a kick vote next to his name. So, I turned on my mic and kindly explained that I wasn't going to kick my husband and, if he had a problem with that, he knows where the door is. LOL

Kick vote immediately disappeared. I like to think maybe I shamed that dude for being just a spot too impatient.

I very rarely see kicks, I think I've gotten 3 single vote kicks over the course of time that I've been playing (on PS3 btw).

What really baffles me is when someone sets their lobby to Bronze, I get in with my level 8 Paladin but immediately have a vote kick and I'm like WTF, and 30 seconds later the host changes it to Platinum. Why would you do that, of course you're going to get a bunch of low leveled characters. I hate people.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Occasionally on Gold / Plat, i get kicked by morons who don't
realize that N7 level 120 is the maximum if you don't choose to randomly reset to level 1 for no reason. But even that isn't all that common.

If your 120, you "look" no different than anyone else who is 120 just "starting out," no matter what you say or do. You are expecting people to "assume" your an experienced player in a random lobby? They aren't morons, I'd have booted you as well. I bet if you joined and you were N7 12K, no one but a actuall moron would have booted you. (Not saying all high N7 players are good players, as much as N7 plays a larger part than the choices people make in this game vs the BS thats flying around BSN. Because only people on BSN believe that N7 plays no part in the game.)

Yeah, N7 120 means you haven't been around for long or never took any part in operations which probably means you don't play that often. Experienced players don't just sit with same builds forever they will experiment with it all the time, respec cards won't cut it. If on top of that you have some weird loadout  prepare to be kicked.

In what way won't respec cards cut it? I don't know about anyone else, but every time I use one it gets replaced rather quickly. Also, please explain how n7 120 means you haven't been around long or took part in any operations? There are some 120s who have been around from the beginning, or not too long thereafter, and the only operations it means you didn't take part in was the promote class objectives. I'm not saying I don't notice n7 rank, but that's more of a quick glance. I then focus more closely on character level, equipment and gear level, whether their loadout makes sense to me, and do they equip consumables. No one element completely determines whether or not I'll ready up or leave the lobby.

With all due respect sir your tag makes you look like a bot. It's primarily a small combination of numbers and letters with not discernible meaning. I mean I know your not because bots do not write on forums but that must've been what they were thinking.

Ah yes, I just love it when PC players comment on what it's like to play on xbox. Personally, I don't make assumptions about what the ME3 mp PC community is like. I've played other games on the PC, and have had really good and really bad experiences doing so. I don't just assume that translates to ME3 mp.

I think I was kicked 3 times too, twice when I THOUGHT I'd left the lobby, and once when 2 mooks voted to kick someone with better gear...other person quit, then they kicked me.

EDIT: On PC

I've kicked for Gamertag before, but only because it was straight-up offensive (It was something about hating Jews - I don't remember exactly).  I of course also reported it to Xbox Live.  With yours, I don't get kicking for that at all.

People take the kicking thing way too hard, when in a party we kick players to make room for another friend after a game.
Or in a gold lobby everyone takes their best gear and one takes nothing, not even bothering to equip gear.
Having said that, i don't like being kicked.

I don't get offended by being kicked to make room for a friend. You can pretty much tell when that happens. They'll switch the room to private, and the other players will have mics plugged in but no one will be in  game chat. That's happened to me a couple of times and it doesn't bother me.

What does bother me is when they leave you there readied up for a seeming eternity. Clearly they're waiting to see if their friend can join in or not, so they're keeping you on the hook in case they can't. I figure show a little courtesy and let the person no what's going on. That way they can either wait and hope they'll be needed, or they can move on and not risk wasting time waiting for a match they might not ever get to play. Also, if you're just setting a lobby up and you plan on playing with friends, start it out as private and leave it that way until you know whether or not you'll need a random player to fill out the lobby.
