After reading about it, I just had to go for the "first woman I've slept with" conversation. Fortunately, I'm now a compulsive saver, so I can get to most points in the game quite easily. I've uploaded a cropped screenshot of the conversation log to an album, for anybody who's interested. PC version, by the way. I'm a complete moron at this, so I hope it's readable. As far as I'm concerned the best line of the entire conversation is the "too tall" comment. One more vote for Alistair.

Thanks! I was able to access it through your profile.

I haven't romanced Al with a dwarf. I have to admit to finding that rather odd, lol. But I like the "I was thinking I was too tall" comment!  :D

Huh, I've never trigged that particular line of the dialogue.  I always get,
"I really don't want to wait anymore. I've... I've never done this
before. You know that. I want it to be with you... while we have the
chance. In case..."

Maybe it's an approval thing - I've never waited beyond the minimal approval you have to get with him in order to trigger this conversation :innocent:  and so he's always all, "Maybe it's too soon...I don't know, but..." and I'm always like "Nope, it's not. In the tent, Templar. I've been waiting for this since Ostagar!"

I guess I'll have to go back to that save and experiment a little...oh the horror!

The one thing that I found is that if ANYBODY else has business with you and intitiates a conversation before Alistair can start this one, you never get this one, so make sure that nobody else has anything to say before you ask him to your tent, and before you leave camp afterward. I kept getting preempted by Sten and his "you can't be a woman" hang-up.

The only time I got that dialogue is when I was the one who intiated the tent scene.  If you wait to ask till he's at a high adore level (90+) almost love then he'll agree.  He says it afterwards.  It's so sweet.

I can't see a mage or a city elf making Anora queen, especially a city elf, seeing as how much they have suffered under her rule even before the coup.

My elf mage agreed to mae Anora queen because that was what it took to buy her support at the Landsmeet. The next time I play through, we shall see...

My rule of thumb:  If it's been on the market for 24 hours, there's slash for it.

It worked for Peter and Prince Caspian.  :P

I'm actually contemplating writing some Zevran/Blair slash for my new mage character.   Maker help me.

He doesn't have to, y'know.... ; ) As long as you're willing to forego either children or marriage, depending on your situation. If he does (one playthrough for me), it breaks his heart, too--but that doesn't make it feel any better, does it?

I love em both, but if I absolutely had to choose between Alistair and Zevran, I'd choose Alistair.  I've never been able to marry him off to Anora, or let him leave the party, it would break my video game character heart.  So I have an elf for Zevran and multiple human noble characters for Alistair.
I have to say, you know a character is great when you've played a game multiple times but you have to stop everything to hear him speak a certain line once again, just because it makes you melt every time.  Oh Alistair.  Posted Image

Zevran. Although I prefer to romance him with a male as the man on man stuff is hot, and I'm dirty like that.

Alistair is sweet in a puppyish sort of way but I just don't fancy him. He always gets married to Anora in my games (well, apart from the one where my HN married Anora and Alistair got the chop).

Well Alistair dumped me last night after the Landsmeet.

He was marrying Anora which I suggested but all of sudden.."Nooo I can't see you anymore"
I knew we wouldn't have kids and I was fine with him giving Anora a child. Still "Nooo I can't see you, I have to do my duty"

So I called him an ass.

So after that, I went to the camp on my way to Redcliffe.  To my surprise Zevran swooped in with a "massage", and you know what?

Swooping wasn't bad. ;)

Same here, Minaleth, Zevran it is. It's Alistair up to a certain point, then he get's the 'we need to part ways' speech.

Well, except for my first PC, a silly mage, who got dumped but still ended up with the love of her life. Zevran to the rescue.

Ohh, don't be sad, Sresla. I'm guessing it's that way because guys can't romance Alistair (without mods, and even then it's not the same as a femWarden/Alistair pairing), so they can't compare the two.

After several playthroughs, Romancing both Zevy and Ali to the max I must choose Alistair as my favorite. The highs, the lows, the extremes, I love it all. Strangely, I ended up liking him more after his Landsmeet fit, and once made him break up with me on purpose so I could get the breakup speech, which was very moving and bittersweet. It's the dynamics of his character, the flaws and strengths, the diamond in the rough, that make him my favorite. I like messed up characters, because it makes them so interesting and real.

That said, I've never gone through a playthrough where Zev doesn't get at least a little loving. I think it's cruelty and neglect to make the poor elf go through a game without at least one trip to the tent.

I agree with you, Skadi. I love the potential drama of an Alistair relationship- the post Landsmeet break-up, whether it actually ends things or not, is more emotionally resonant for me than anything in a Zevran romance.

I've come to a point, with Zev, where I won't romance him if I know that PC won't end up with him. I would rather pretend he's spreading the Joy of Zev to lucky Fereldans we ecounter on our travels than string him along.
