Between the two, Alistair. He has his faults, but Zevran is creepy and way too much of a man****.

Capping this off with saying neither of them are my romance of choice though. Then again, I lean towards women a bit more than men in general anyways.

Hello!

I'm new to the forum and I played Dragon Age for the first time one month ago.

I read this thread and a question popped up into my mind.

With my Dalish female elf,I romanced Zevran, reaching the point in which he gives the PC the earring (I refused it the first time,so I got the proposal). Now,the question is: did I complete the romance? I read that the romance doesn't end with the earring, but after that I had no more dialog options, except of course for the ones at the end of the game.

Did I miss something, talking about dialogues?

I'm sure people will come along who can answer this, but if you go to the Zevran thread, there will be many who can answer any questions you might have about the romance.

Zevran. My new character, Silvana, will be romancing Alistair but I think she may have a fling with Zevran too.

Chgusa, I thought that dialogue options run out eventually for all characters if you keep talking to them enough times? I'm no expert though. Can you still go to the tent with Zevran if you wish to?

No, the second offer of the earring is the final romance dialoge.  If your'e on an unmodded game, you will get bugged dialog at the gates (just a warning).

Ok, thanks ejoslin :)

And by the way, I'm a Zevran fan. I'm planning on making a DAO cosplay, I think I'll cosplay Morrigan, and I asked by bf to cosplay Zevran :D

Mariefox:yes, you can ask him to your tent again after the proposal. In fact, my PC did it just before the group left for the final battle.

When I am in the mood for sweet and stupid I pick Alistair and when I am in the mood for hot and tough I pick Zevran. On most days my characters love Zev the best. I would also vote for both if that were an option but only because I play on the pc and use mods. Otherwise, bugged or not I prefer Zev.

Oh, I forgot, there are more romance dialogs (potentially) after the second offer of the earring. For a city elf who visits the alienage afterwards (all romance partners have this) and for a HN who is getting married.

Alistair. I'm not a rabid fangirl, but Zevran kind of creeps me out, a bit on the too easy side.

In other words he's a man.

Cool.  I didn't get the proposal last time he was in love with my character but it was my first time through the game so I accepted the earring first time.

Mint chocolate chip or caramel ice cream? Both - often together :P
Zev or Alistair? Alistair or Zev? Both - preferably together
Mods are wonderous things:devil:

Zevran, hands down. I had a damned hard time navigating the Alistair romance out to conclusion with my human noble. It made me ill towards the end-- especially what happens with Loghain. I feel bad saddling Artemesia with him. I fully intend to do another playthrough now that I have Ser Gilmore dled and let her marry a "real" man.

I posted more in depth reasoning behind my Al/Zev decisions here.

3 ways - We wish!

I haven't played it yet, but I think it just lets you have tent time with both without the jealousy talk. I'll probably use it on my next run. Some of the more "experienced" players can probably give you more information. It called "polygamey" - that's the spelling. Can't link at the moment, but you could look it up.

Not to flame, but I am genuinely interested if I just did the Zevran romance wrong...I just don't get the attraction. Yes, he has some funny lines, but he has never seemed as if he truly grew to love my warden despite my best efforts. Obviously, the sex thing is not a problem but actual intimacy and true love just seems missing.

Even Morrigan shows some true signs of love to a male warden if properly motivated.

So, I go Alistair all the way for his awkwardness but his total sincerity and romantic tendencies...the rose is just the best ;)

Zevran's romance has some bugs, and you may very well have missed the ending part.  One bug causes the romance never to update to love with a certain dialog choice.  Another bug that happens in you get the wrong dialog at the gates.  But you also have to ask him to the tent, and ask him after he falls in love (and is refusing to go to the tent) to tell you what is going on with him.

Zevran is the only love interest who may end up proposing.  So I'd say, yes, true love actually happens.

Edit: Here is his final confession of feelings, but when the warden rejects the proposal (so it ends up in a breakup).  Normally it has a much nicer ending.

Though I don't do male romances. I think I would rather be with Zevran than annoying Alistair. Just as long as we stay just friends of course.

That was very interesting and thank you for the link!  I still don't know that I would want Zev more than Alistair on all characters, but it may be worth a try to see that more romantic side

lalalalalalala I cannot hear you talking about Zev and Alistair together :P

When I first started replaying DAO I thought Alistair was my favourite to romance, but actually I am turning into more of a Zevran devotee. I love them both, but the equity changes. It's nice to have different options depending on how you want your PC to behave and the story you are developing for them. That is why I think Zev works best for my Elven/Rogue characters and keep Alistair for the Human/Nobles. Not saying you have to, obviously you can romance either of them with any character that they would romance back.

I probably am asking to be flamed for this, but... Do the comments Wynne makes about Alistair's personal hygene put anyone else off? Not only the nasty sock thing, but that she wanted both Alistair and the Mabari to sleep in the same area of camp to confine the smell?

*grin* Stinky men are such a turnoff for me!
