So I start ME3 while connected, Origin syncs its cloud or whatever, and then I end up that the standard splash screen where you press a key to continue.  It tries for 45 seconds or so to connect to the EA servers (the "Communicating" status message stops spinning about halfway through) before it times out and shows this full-screen ME3-styled dialog box with the title "Error" and the text in the dialog is "Mass Effect 3 server is unavailable at this time.  Please try again later."

Beneath this is a button in the shape of a bar running the width of the screen that says "OK".

If you're lucky, you click this the first time you hover over it, and it takes you back to the ME3 menu screen - only there are no menus, and the bottom right part says "Connect to EA Servers".  The screen is completely locked and there's nothing you can do to proceed.  Task Manager > End Process is required.

If you're unlucky, after you hover over the dialog "OK" button and miss it, it no longer works, and you have to go to Task Manager to End Process.

If weekend multiplayer load on the servers is blocking single player, well, that's a problem.

I will gladly take a memory dump in process explorer upon request.

same things happening to me and has been happening for a long time now!!! the EA help desk is totaly useless as well

Help desks are usually staffed by the useless. The moment they cease to be useless, their confidence grows and they find a better job.  That, or they get promoted to management.  (The same thing happens with testers - it's almost impossible to keep good ones before Google or a competitor steals them).

For this reason, I call them Hell Desks.

I have the same problem. I can't connect to EA and are locked out of my game save because the DLC cannot be authorized. This is very annoying since the game spends a long time authorizing the DLC every single time I start the game and every time I turn it off. It has been authorized 100 times and now I can't play because EA can't keep their servers working properly?!

This is really bad considering all the headache I had installing the game in the first place, because of stupid origin. I had to download the game from origin, since origin wouldn't let me install from my disc.

This is discusting treatment of their customers! they cant seriously expect to release a game with this many faults and expect that releasing a few patches which fix tiny tiny little problems will make it ok RIP hoodaticus thats the kind of thing that is frustrating people! we complain and we get banned and have our playing privelages removed WTF!!!! i havent ever cheated! ive never pirated a game! i havent abused any site rules! why did you break my game!!!!!!!!!! RAGE!!!! i swear my blood pressure has sky rocketed since buying this game! if i get ill im sueing EA

i bet i get banned soon because of my clear insubordination! its such a crime to be unhappy with the way we are being treated!
