Issue found on PC.
Background: When you promote classes, it resets each character's level, stats, name, and color scheme back to the defaults
Problem found: When promoting classes for Operation ALLOY, it properly reset all my non-DLC characters, but it did not properly reset my DLC characters. In this case, all non-DLC characters were properly reset, but for all DLC characters, their level was reset back to 1, but their color scheme, name, and stats remained the same.
For example, I promoted all my Vanguards, but my Krogan Vanguard who was reset to level 1 kept everything else intact. So my level 1 Krogan Vanguard still had access to all his upgraded powers. The screen showed -82 skill points to spend.
Possible cause: When I started Mass Effect 3 it could not verify my DLC. I started multiplayer and promoted my classes. When I tried to join a game, it would not let me since I did not have the DLC. So I restarted Mass Effect 3 which then properly recognized my DLC. I am assuming that the game then recognized that I had promoted the class, but since the DLC had not loaded properly the first time it did not properly reset the DLC characters.
I played one game with my "Level 1" Krogan Vanguard, who was actually level 20 considering the bug. I realize that this may be considered cheating. I had hoped that by playing one game (on Bronze) that it would then properly reset the character but it did not.
I am unsure of how to proceed. Could I be banned if I use these "promoted" DLC characters? Is there an easy way to properly reset these characters?
