Because you'll just get useless lvl 4 comsumables. I had some free points from doing some surveys and spent them on 6 spectre packs. 4/6 gave me junk. There was a rumor that buying packs with real money improves your chances of getting better stuff since it makes good bussiness sense, but that is not the case.

If the micro transaction were supposed to be BW's mint then it fails to deliver the goods. Don't throw your money away.

People are allowed to spend their own money however they like.

Maybe people spend them BEFORE they have maxed out all golden guns. That's when you don't get those level 4 consumables.

So only those people are idiots who use them AFTER getting their stuff.

But hey, people can spent their money as they see fit. No need to call them idiots when they value other things than you do.

it's worth it if your manifest is still pretty much empty. if you're just trying to get a few last things then yes there is a very good chance you wont get anything but lvl consumables.

This. Also, should've spent that money on a XBLA game like Dust.

Alright, on top of insulting everyone who has spent real money on packs, I doubt that many people spend money on packs when they only get lvl. 4 ammo.

This. However I would never buy Packs with Real Money even if the money was given to me for free.

it's a gamble sure...I'd drop maybe $10 when a new DLC came out and I'd get at least a couple of new things...no sweat.

Why do you care what others spend their money on?  It's nobody's business but their own.

Ok, so I dropped $40 on psp's when I was working on unlocking my rare weapons.

I make that in an hour.

Your point?

I'll spend my money however I want, thank you very much. It is mine, after all.

EDIT: By the way, you owe me a thank you for funding your DLC, since you clearly aren't.

I'm curious... where did they say that buying packs makes our dlc free?

It was smarter to use real money when the game first came out, so you got an advantage over people who started out with subpar weapons/classes not to mention there was not as much rare dilution.

Money spent through microtransactions helps to fund the new development of DLC...I do believe I saw that from one of the BW employees, but I'm jiggered if I remember who.

I know a lot of others have been saying this too. But would be nice to get the source.

one of my mates bought 2 PSPs and got nothing this was just after the dlc came out.

if you paid 1200pts for a normal dlc and unlock everything, it would be ok. but if you buy 1200pts of PSPs you could get nothing its not fair.

i would suggest they do packs with ultra-rare garunteed if you spend your own money or garuntees a new thing as an unlock after a dlc.

with a garunteed shot at something good it might be worth a punt. as it is now, not so much.

I still don't see what the problem here is. It seems to me it's perfectly viable, particularly when your new to the game, to spend some money on packs to get yourself going. I remember purchasing a few veteran and recruit packs when multiplayer started and I certainly felt like that helped me to start out strong. Granted I haven't bought any thereafter (didn't feel the need) but I was glad the option was available at the outset.

I wouldn't spend any real money on packs now, though. All I really have left to unlock/max out are gear and UR weapons.

Maybe I'll drop $10 after the next MP DLC comes out, but even then I should have several million credits to spend...so most likely not.

But they made MP free for me and many others. So don't stop them from spending real money.

"Useless lvl 4 consumables"

Yeah, a 60% buff to damage is TOTALLY useless, right? I mean, why would I ever equip Warp Ammo IV to get that boost, it's "useless".
