Your view of the world is different than my view of the world.
Therefore, you are an idiot.

Eh, my wife spends at least $20/month at the local winery.

I figure, this is my equivalent.

You do realize that if nobody ever bought packs, MP would be shut down very quickly because it would be completely unprofitable? I spend $20 each time they come out with a free DLC, and will continue to do so even if I ever max out my manifest. I don't consider it a waste to support a game that I enjoy.

I spent at least $30 when I first got the game. I bought only spectre packs.

If you want to spend real money the best time is when you are just starting out. Also lv4 is hardly useless.

Everyone acts like level 4 comsumables is a must. It isnt. If buying packs with real money (which I have done when the game first came out and after each DLC) I feel I should be getting stuff that lasts longer than one mission. If Bioware wanted me to keep paying them they should make it worth my money. As it is now, it isn't worth it and anyone in my situation should feel the same (all rare weapons maxed).

And don't give me that "if you maxed out your manifest you wouldn't spent anymore money" argument. If I did max my manifest with real money, It means I gave BW enough money already and it time for new stuff. Instead they put level 4 consumables. You feel like spending money on that?  Then yes, you are not only an idiot but also a corporate tool.

"Useless lvl 4 consumables"

Yeah, a 60% buff to damage is TOTALLY useless, right? I mean, why would I ever equip Warp Ammo IV to get that boost, it's "useless".

They're definitely not useless but one per slot is a slap in the face.

You can support your game and still get what you want. This is a false dichotomy. As it stands now, the scales are tipped way in BW/EA's favor.
Don't think of it as "this or that". This whole micro transaction bussiness could be win-win for both BW and the players. Thinking otherwise is just stupid.

Maybe people spend them BEFORE they have maxed out all golden guns. That's when you don't get those level 4 consumables.

So only those people are idiots who use them AFTER getting their stuff.

It's stupid if they don't have a steady income and the rares are already maxed, but if you work a lot and still want to play without sinking hundreds of hours into the MP, buying stuff is actually an okay option.

Jus' sayin'.

Yeah, basically my point. BW created a situation where giving them money is a dumb move. If you make dumb moves then you are an idiot. Hence /thread.

The $150 I've spent on packs in ME3's multiplayer is completely insignificant to me. I've spent four times that on a single collector's edition, and six times that on my Watchmen issues. (Just two examples)

I know to some people, and I'm guess to the OP, five dollars is a lot of money to invest in something.

Edit: Fixed word use.

If you spend money on packs when you're at the point where you're likely going to get level 4 consumables, then you are making a dumb move. When you still have rares to unlock, then buying packs speeds up the process and isn't a dumb move. Pretty simple stuff. Hence:

Nah, I think people who spend real money in PlayStation Home are much bigger idiots. Here at least you can get some use out of it, in Home, well, it's pretty much the definition of useless.

Because you'll just get useless lvl 4 comsumables. I had some free points from doing some surveys and spent them on 6 spectre packs. 4/6 gave me junk. There was a rumor that buying packs with real money improves your chances of getting better stuff since it makes good bussiness sense, but that is not the case.

If the micro transaction were supposed to be BW's mint then it fails to deliver the goods. Don't throw your money away.

You're an idiot for believing in a rumour, so right back at you OP. Image IPB

 I think it's a bad business model.

Sure, people can spend their own money however they goddamn feel like it. Sure. But every time somebody drops actual money on this crap shoot, it tells BW/EA that maybe, just maybe there's something to this sh*tty method of making money. Bioware is testing this method out, and we are the test sample.

So...I mean, if you wanted to use your money to buy a diseased hooker from space, that's all on you. But this is gonna inform BW's decisions for microtransaction models going forward. Whether it's this game, or new games down the line. Which means, however you spend your money (or don't) has an impact beyond you.

Of course, that's just my opinion on the matter. But I just don't think a company should be rewarded for giving the customer nothing for something. Because a random chance to get an item you want (or an item you don't want or even need) is not the same as getting the item you want.
