When you're choosing whether to buy something or earn it in-game, what you're really doing is deciding how much your time is worth.
Given how long it takes to earn credits, most people are "working" for much less than minimum wage.
If you genuinely consider playing a game to be akin to working for a wage, then...yeah, I don't even know what to say to that. I can say there's no job I've ever had that I would compare to playing a video game. Perhaps you've simply had some really fun jobs, however. Like Professional Shark Puncher. Or Executive Tiger Lord. Or perhaps Space Ninja.

Then the person plays the wrong game and should find something that is enjoyable.

I have spent monies on packs too. When the game first came out and after a dlc drops. I'm sure BW is touched that morons continue to pay and tell them it's okay to screw their PAYING player base. You want to throw money away for level 4 gear? That's your prerogative. I'm just callin you out for encouraging BW in continuing this ripoff.Mendelevosa wrote...
Then I guess I am a genuine retard, because I spent up to $40 to max out most of my rares.

I spent $0 to max out my Rares. I can't see how I could possibly be mad at you. I mean, I don't think I'm the one that would typically be mad in that particular equation.

The only other place I disagree with you is in that those of us who have spent money on packs are keeping the MP DLC's free for everyone. I love Mass Effect, and I will continue to spend real money because I want Bioware to continue pumping out new content for the game I love. It is a high hope, but I expect to keep spending real money on this Multiplayer well past the next Mass Effect to come out. Especially if they don't have a multiplayer for that game.

You and many others miss the point of this thread. I see nothing wrong in paying. I am not an anti-pay to win guy. I would pay for packs since I have a full time job and two kids. I'm not some basement dweller or college kid with all the time in the world.tonnactus wrote...
I also dont see where the fun doing is that. Its better to "earn" those weapon and gear. And even with unmaxed rares people could get things like the Krysae(was decent in the past) or the Arc Pistol...
My issue is that the paying consumer doesn't get anything worth their money. And doing so sends the message to BW that it cool do screw us.

I actually wish people wouldn't think "they're funding new dlc" cause if that was the case, maybe BW would get the point that there is alot of crap they need to fix with their existing game.
It would be interesting if Bioware had come out and stated that the purchase of equipment packs is what funds MP DLC.
As opposed to...I dunno...the profits from game sales or something.
Because unless this is something Bioware has actually said, I'm not sure why some folks seem to think DLC is funded by something only a part of the consumer base is actually paying for. I mean...I'm sure it helps, I guess...but it seems quite a leap to make.
Can anyone point me to a quote where Bioware said this?

Except Bioware is not forcing anyone to spend real currency to buy the packs in the first place. Sure it sucks that level 4 ammo is more common than it should be, but that does not excuse the fact that people spend real money for packs due to weak will. If people find themselves having bad luck while spending digital credits, then why use real money, only to experience the same scenario?

You yourself admitted to spending money packs, are you calling yourself weak willed? I spent money on packs because I have a full time job (like I have an income) and a family. I guess I should be ashamed of myself for using my time to pay my bills and feed my kids. If I was strong willed, I'd farm FBWGG all day long. Wow you really showed me.
My point is the scenario should be different for paying costumers. But it isn't. And since it isn't you shouldn't pay, because 3 dollars for 2 level 4 comsumables just isn't worth it.

Free 2 Play games commonly use this business model to fund development. Some of the most profitable games operate like this (League of Legends, etc).
The only question on my mind is how much has Bioware earned.
Granted, in LoL you know what you are paying for. I have only seen foreign games do this random store system

It was smarter to use real money when the game first came out, so you got an advantage over people who started out with subpar weapons/classes not to mention there was not as much rare dilution.
You must have ME3 MP confused with another game. 'Round these parts we dun like nobody geetin' a 'vantage over anyone else...we nerf 'em!

OP: Don't tell then how they spend their own money. Most of us work hard for it. If players spend real money for pack and etc that their own business not my and any other.
It is your business if their doing so encourages Bioware to continue to use this system in this or future games.

Last two paychecks I spent some cash on MS points that all went toward PSPs.
I regret nothing.

Eh, my wife spends at least $20/month at the local winery.
I figure, this is my equivalent.
That is a good way of looking at it, though I think I'd prefer the wine over virtual weapons and characters.
I'm curious to see the statistics behind people quitting this game; as in how many people quit this game because of the Store System; or if it's part of a compilation of issues, how much weight does the Store System carry in people's desire to quit the game altogether.
That said, I am, unfortunately, one of the idiots who spend $20 per MP DLC. But the motivator behind it, is to of course, ensure that I unlock new characters and weapons. I keep playing MP because not only is it fun for me, but the goal of unlocking everything (characters, weapons, gears etc) is also part of the challenge (that may or may not be attributed to my "perfectionist" personality type). The same goes for some people I believe.
It would be nice if I can select the products I want in the store and only buy those like in any other RPG; however, if by now I already have Level X of all weapons, as well as all characters unlocked; I can't say I'd be coming back as often as I do now. I believe the store system as one of BW's way of keeping the masses in the game.
