I just noticed a strange behaviour that has to be a bug, so I thought to report it right away.
Also as some kind of insurance for not getting banned by some server statics tool measuring that I did shoot too much shots or something.
Parameters:
Plattform: PC
class: Turian Sentinel
Level: 18
Map: White Geth Gold (yes i was farming
Weapon: Eagle I, Magazine V, Barrel V
Other: Pistol Gear V, Pistol Amp III, Armor Piercing III, Power Amplifier III
DLC installed: All up to Earth
Latency: I was not the host and the game was a bit laggy (that kind of lag where you don't see enemy jump or climb animations and can't climb ladders yourself anymore)
Behaviour:
- I shoot the magazine empty and then reload.
- I do a few shots with the new magazine and then reload again
- Magazine counter shows full again (43), ammo storage count gets reduced accordingly
- Then a tick later, total ammo storage count jumps up again (but never to max).
As I tested around a little, I surely fired around >300 shots from my 192+43 ammo capacity without leaving my cover.
One time, my ammo storage count jumped from 6 to 191, so this can't be just an update of an asynchronous magazine count.
Note:
- I did NOT stand near a ammo crate.
- I did NOT stand near a support pylon.
- I did NOT accidently use a thermal clip consumable (checked)
- The extra ammo is not just a false display. I could actually fire all the shots and the magazine count didn't get reduced by a later update or something.
It is pretty reproducable (~50%) and seems like a erroneous update of that hidden magazine buffer variable or whatever code it is that causes those regular asynchronous magazine counts for non-host players sometimes.
Hope this gets fixed and I still run to crates, of course. But hey: if the game says "go ahead, shoot another round, ammo's on the house" while in cover in front of 2 Primes, I take the ammo
