I would only be comfortable with playing Bronze or maybe Silver I'm guessing, unless people feel like carrying me.

I'll carry you. Random gold matches have been an excruciating experience lately, so we'll have a blast. =] I have to use some of these consumables anyway. ^_^ I'll send your a request.

By the way, just so everyone knows, I'm going to be bad. Perhaps even worse than I was when I first started playing on the XBox. So don't get too mad at me, lol. Those I've played with on XBox can attest that I'm not a scrub...I hope at least. :P

Don't play with him! He's a scrub!

And a traitor.... :bandit:

Been thinking of getting it for PC as well, just for the heck of it.

I have a somewhat talkative PC group for it, so If you defect... You can listen to a Seattlite and a Canadian speak the beard language amongst themselves, Snake.

If you are interested in that sorta thing.

Hello again all.

As bclagge can attest to, I have been having some difficulties getting myself going. (Please save all Biagra jokes until after the technical problem wall of text!)

I'm going to copy/paste the issue I've been having from the PC Technical Support forums, and if any of you can think of anything I could try to fix this, please let me know. The whole Origin/ME3 one-two punch thing is really confusing and obnoxious to me, a lowly console peasant.

Here we go! For context, the title of the topic is:

Every time I launch Mass Effect 3, Origin goes into offline mode.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any things I could try?

I just bought the PC version today (have had the XBox version for several months) and dealing with Origin has been a headache. Many more layers of annoyance than console users have to deal with.

Anyway, Origin enters offline mode whenever I launch ME3, and I get the error at the title screen (after the start screen with Earth in the background) that says "ERROR The Mass Effect 3 Server is unavailable at this time. Please try again later." Then I get a popup several seconds later on top of that that tells me "You have lost your connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must connect again to access online features of the title."

I've tried repairing the installation of the core game, and the three MP DLC I have.

I was able to get into MP and buy my Starter Pack earlier today before I downloaded/installed the three MP DLC, but this sequence of events happens 100% of the time now.

Thanks for any assistance you can render.

Oh and I should add, after I click OK on the aforementioned errors, I go back to the start screen and get another popup advising me "Unable to authorize the listed DLC. Please log in to the Alliance Network with the account used to purchase the DLC." Then it lists the three MP DLC.

This error message, of course, makes sense if Origin is in offline mode. Which it always is when I Alt+Tab over to it.

You don't have steam or anything like it, do you? I've found that after I exit Skyrim, Steam does it's little synching thing. I can't connect to EA until that is done.

Is you're firewall blocking it? In the sticky they list the ports that need to be open. (However, if you ask Origin they list different port #)

Edit:  I also can't connect to the servers when Origin is DL something else.  Like now the the Kingdom of Amalur (hey I got it for 50% off Image IPB)

Check and make sure Origin isn't downloading anything else.

Edit 2:  I got the "unable to authorize DLC" thing when the DL was corrupt.  It showed it as DL, but it didn't work.  I actually needed to DL it again.

(sorry.  I'm rather Image IPB right now)

best advice I can give is try uninstalling and reinstalling Origin its self. I had an issue with a corrupt install of origin when I first installed ME3 my self.
Download and install from store.origin.com rather than installing the version on the disc.

Thanks for the help!

Hmm...no Steam, but I should look through my active processes and see if there's anything unusual. It seems to just be Origin taking up like 90,000 KB of processing power, and then the core Windows processes.

I turned off Windows Firewall, but before that I had had it allowing both ME3 and Origin through. And it should have been asking me to be allowed through anyway, hmm.

I will go through and try to figure out another way in if this doesn't ring any bells for people, and try it out on a different network, maybe the one on campus :bandit: or at Starbucks :bandit::bandit:

Thanks again!

I will do this, thanks for the advice.

I had Origin installed on my PC prior to ME3, I can't recall why. Maybe I did it to play the demo way back when, or to manage my DA:O content.

Will post back here to let people know if that fixed it, it could help others.

I had an Origin problem early on.  One of the fixes was to install the beta of their beta (does that make it the gamma?).  In any case, in the settings box on Origin, you can select to automatically install the latest beta, versus the currently released version (scroll down on the "General" tab, you will see it).  I did that and have not had a problem since.  If you have an old version of Origin, there were definitely some problems there.  Hope that helps.  I'm finishing up my workout, will be back in game in about 30, hope to see you there.

I wish I could offer some help here :(. This probably won't help, but have you tried setting it back to online mode once ME3 starts and gives you the errors?

Dear all, I tried reinstalling Origin, and doing the beta toggle thing that Grinch suggested (didn't restart computer afterward though, I might try that next), but no dice.

@bclagge, it's the weirdest thing, it's like the error message in ME3 "holds" Origin in offline status, and vice versa, so as long as there's an error message popup in ME3 Origin won't return to online mode despite me clicking on it and my network access being fine.

With profound sadness, I'm giving up for the night and making myself a bowl of pasta. Troubleshooting computer problems make me hungry, and I haven't had an actual dinner yet.

Hopefully I'll get to play with some of you tomorrow. B)

Ouch. I had an enormous ring around Rannoch before. Took about 2 weeks, 4 gallons of green tea, and 2 shots of penicillin to get rid of it. Wait... are we talking about the same thing?

You should convince EA to set up a Hamachi Network with you.

Then they never have an excuse to loose connection with yah. :P

Ah, so that's why you were constantly popping on and offline earlier. I'll be up for a match or two with you tomorrow (or later today, technically).

Hyperperistalsis, should be on in a few minutes. I'm not sure if invites work for me though, I have to disable the origin overlay or the 3D vision compatibility mod I'm using crashes the game.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Also -joke about 'getting it up' difficulties-

It could possibly be your internet connection.

Have you also tried going into account settings and selecting 'enable origin In-Game log file' that could help.

Mind you I'm just throwing these ideas out of my mouth right now.

Hi OP, I've recently got the PC version too. I haven't encountered the bug you are having, the only odd thing I noticed was that, after installing Origin, it then wants to download the entire game, rather than install from disc. Very odd, but easily fixed.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet (ID in sig) as have only just got used to the controls. Hope you have better luck soon.
