You just can't have  world scale "rah rah epicness" TWICE less than a decade apart  :P

Well, you can, but you do eventually run into the problem of the shock value eventually wearing off. Buffy the Vampire Slayer kinda ran into this problem; once Buffy had saved the world five or six times, the threat of the First Evil in the seventh season didn't seem like a big deal.

I have a suspicion that our "Epic loving" dear friend never tires of shock value, hence his eagerness to play the same story all the time :P

BTW, Alladin had no genie / mortals conflict and was a clear cut good x evil tale. the only ambiguous character was the comic relief parrot. Is not the same thing as DA2 at all but alas I fear our friend will not see the distinction.

Germany was destroyed, their economy in shambles, they had no weapons or ships or planes to do it. Took them almost 50 years to be able to wage WW2.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me. You think WWII happened 50 years after WWI? WTF?

Oh, I didn't notice that. Yeah, your timetable's off, Renmiri. WW1 ended in 1918 and WW2 began in 1939. (Though obviously Germany's military build-up began long before that.).

Anyways, what were we talking about again? Oh right, Hawke is awesome.

Dunno, I surely overgrew personal attacks and the need to be an EPIC hero in all my daydreams so maybe I'm what 10+ years older than you ?

But you obviously grow into an intelligent person.

Seriously, how does someone who isn't a child not know when the World Wars took place?

It was roughly 21 years, but there's no need to be a giant **** about it.

Isn't there? That is really just basic knowledge that people should have picked up in their childhood. How could someone think that either WWI happened in the 1890s or WWII happened in the 1960s-1970s without being extremely intellectually vacant?

What I'm telling you is you're being rude about it. You're rude about everything to everyone and you're going to get in trouble for it if you don't calm yo ******.

Wooooh! I better watch out. Can't point out that dumb people are being dumb or the angry mods will tell me to be nice.

Did you never get taught manners? Not to say anything at all if you don't have anything nice to say?

I, for one, would really love to know how this extremely arrogant brand of intellectual browbeating relates to Dragon Age! ;)

Sure. I also learned that
Spoiler
and that sometimes some people really do need reminded they're not very bright. If everyone was very nice to dumb people and never corrected them then they would never become less dumb.

Lovely, I'll take that. So, back to the topic, then?

Hawke was obviously not what the devs promised he/she'd be - namely the most important and influential person in the history of Thedas. But Hawke is definitely important. Without her, Kirkwall would be the first city in the Free Marches to fall to Qunari occupation. And once the Qunari get a good foothold in, I imagine they're rather like cockroaches - they spread very quickly and are almost impossible to completely destroy. Denerim is dangerously close to Kirkwall. That could have been a serious problem.

I find that correcting someone tends to make them feel stupid enough without further insulting them. I also find that needless cruelty is its own kind of stupidity that everyone secretly laughs at except the perpetrator.

He's the hero the BSN deserves. But not the one it needs right now. So we'll hate him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector.
A Brother Warth.
