Actually, Allers is a "meh character". I don't care for her, which is even more sad that hating a character: 'cause then the writer did a good job if this particular character provokes strong emotions.

Ash has some sweet moments but overall she just bugs the crap out of me. Even in ME1 I just couldn't like her, her personality just didn't suit what I wanted in a squadmate. She's handy in missions though, and some of her banter(particularly on the geth ship with a Tali LI) is great.
Jacob is just a boyscout sucking up to you the whole way. No substance like Garrus or Tali who suck up a bit, Jacob was just flat in so many ways.
